Reflection

It was beneficial to learn about the differences of the drives.  The shared drives are a great way for a team to collaborate.  It was great to learn how to add and notify members of the shared drive as well as different permission levels.

The differences of shared and mydrive was very informative. Shared drive is a great way for co-workers to collaborate on presentations, projects and events.  

I love that we can create a shared folder and add individuals to the folder to add any materials, resources, etc. into one place.  It allows us all to efficiently manage topic folders within that shared folder and find what we need to easily.  It is great to use a shared folder with grade-level teachers as well as with department personnel!

I love the shared drives feature! I love that we can share folders as a team and add to it! Something that I learned that I never knew about was the activity tab. I never knew I could look to see what my team was doing in the drive.  This is so helpful because often at team plan we say someone will add it to the drive but then we never know where it goes. This way, I can look back and find its location easy!

My favorite shared drive functions is the ability to create a shortcut for folders that I use frequently. I created a shortcut for the OLWEUS folder.

My favorite feature is being able to quickly and easily share collaborative materials with colleagues.  This is great because we can work together on something and put it in the shared drive, then everyone can access it and also work on it at the same time.  It makes things much easier to do, and more time efficient!

After reviewing this lesson, I am planning to add a shared drive with whoever takes over my AP GOV classes when I retire in June.  Rather than put everything on a thumb drive, I can easily move the docs to a shared drive which will make one of my colleagues very happy! I also didn't realize how many shared docs I had on my personal drive but after I pulled them up, I was amazed.  I refiled some of them in subfolders where I needed them.  This would be a great idea for an IL to use for department documents also!

My favorite feature is being able to share and edit documents with colleagues so easily. I can access the documents anytime and don't have to be on a school computer. Teaching blended classes allows both of the teachers to upload and create documents to one place and have everything we need organized.

I have never used the "Starred" folder before and honestly didn't even know what it was for!  I love that I can put things there for a time and then remove them without removing them from their original location (my drive or shared drive).  My job requires me to do certain tasks at certain times of the year.  I can utilize the starred folder to house the things that are most important at any given time, and then switch them out as things progress through the year.  

Google Drive can be a bit overwhelming at times, so learning how to manage my information more efficiently is definitely going to allow me to be more organized and save precious time!

My favorite feature is that everyone invited has access to all files and you can have multiple people managing the drive.  The ELA team created a shared drive this summer, making it so much easier for teachers to access the resources we put together versus using a shared folder.

I love that I can share files with numerous people, no email involved.  I can also keep much of my work organized and share it out with others
