Reflection

I really like being able to share a drive with colleagues. As a Special Education Teacher who co-teaches with general education teachers, it is very convenient to have a hared drive with them. 

I normally share or the file is shared with me and we input any documents that we need throughout the entire school year. That way there is no problem if a teacher or myself is absent, both of us have access to all of the documents. 

As you can see from my picture, I saved the link to the file in my Math folder. That is the folder that is shared with me for an 8th grade math year. All the documents are there and we can also reference them for future years.

I love that I am able to create a shortcut from a shared drive to my personal drive.  There are documents that I use daily from a shared drive that I now have quick access to.

Creating shortcuts from my multiple shared drives to be in my own personal drive is great for helping me organize and access information easily. I am constantly using shared drives with my department as well as the committees I am on.

Being able to create shortcuts to my google drive for a shared drive is so nice. I have a team drive that I use constantly so it is nice to make that shortcut so I do not have to go looking for it.

I like learning how to create a shared drive. I've only ever been invited into Shared Drives, but have never created one. I also think that the shortcut feature from Shared to personal drive is useful.

I now understand the difference between Drive and Shared Drive in My Drive.  This will help me to better organize my files. 

My favorite feature is the ability to add collaborators to a shared drive so that everyone has access to and can create, or add their own files. It is a great way to house a collection of resources that multiple team members can use especially for a grade level shared drive. This way anyone on the team can use files as needed, or browse for a file of a specific topic without creating something on your own. This would also be a great feature to include newer teachers with so that they have common resources readily available.

I like how it explained the difference between My Drive and Shared Drive.  I have a ton of cleanup to do!  I will definitely be using the shortcuts and starred features.

I recently added shortcuts for my shared drives and it is so convenient! Something I learned in the tutorial was how to email members of the drive without composing it through gmail. 

To be honest, my Google Drive is a mess. I have all soprts of random documents, old folders, empty folders, etc. I organized my Drive a long time ago but never kept it up. Although this badge is specifically focused on our Shared Drive, I started reorganizing most of my Drive while playing with the skills covered in class. Using shortcuts from the Shared Drive to My Drive isthe most useful. It's also useful to better understand what shared filed I can edit, delete, and share to others. In the past, I was worried about accidentally deleting important files from my Shared Drives. I now have a better handle on what type of access I have to my files and how to organize them so that they are most useful to me.

During COVID, many shared drives were created so that therapists working with specific students could collaborate on weekly documentation for families.  We are no longer communicating that way but I still want access to the information.  So hiding the drive helps clear up my drive but also still gives me access to the information.
