My favorite feature is sharing documents amongst drives. Besides the district shared drive, my grade level has a shared drive with activities for our team. It's easier than having to email or link documents. I didn't realize that I could create a shortcut to shared drives on my account. That makes it so much easier to locate things!

Google Drive

Google Drive is a powerful tool for quickly sharing information. I can give others access to view or edit individual documents, making collaboration seamless. Entire folders can also be shared, and all the contents remain accessible, which is especially helpful for keeping related materials together. This makes team collaboration much easier, allowing everyone to contribute, stay up to date, and work efficiently.

Google Workspace: Shared Drive Level 1 helped understand the difference between shared drive and personal drive. Showed different options to hide drives, search within the drive, email members and make a member different levels if you are the Manager. Checking activity is an area to review within the shared drive folder or the individual document.

Being able to transfer files between drives

I love that I can easily share documents very easily between shared drives and my drive. I can take a template document from a shared drive and make a short cut to my drive so I can easily find it and use it, whether I am printing and using the doucment as-is, or making a copy and changing it to suit my needs. 
I like that we can share files between people and groups, adding various documents or projects within the folders quickly and easily to stay connected consistently.

One thing I really like about shared drives is that you don’t have to set permissions for every single file. It’s all handled at the folder level, which makes things a lot easier. Learning about the different sharing settings helped me understand the key differences between my drive and shared drives. I also didn’t realize you could create shortcuts from a shared drive into your own drive, which is super helpful. I’ve mainly used my drive in the past, but now I’m seeing that some of the documents I use regularly with others might be better off in a shared drive. Understanding the differences between the two has definitely given me new ideas for how to organize and manage my files more efficiently.

Shared Drive Reflection: Danielle Stelmaszyk

What I really like about the shared drive in Google is that everything my team needs is in one place, so we’re not constantly hunting down files or asking each other to resend things. Once I figured out how to set permissions and keep folders organized, it made working together way easier and less chaotic. It’s definitely helped us stay on the same page and get things done faster without all the back-and-forth.

Navigating a Google Shared Drive just got easier.

I am so excited that I learned about the shortcut feature with shared drives. When I am at home I often will create sub plans on my phone when needing to make plans quickly. I ALWAYS struggle to find the Maiorana Sub Folder that is located in the Windom Shared Drive. Being able to have easier access to find this folder is huge for me and I am excited to navigate to the folder smoothly.

Grade Level

Our 4th grade shared drive is helpful when we create or use materials from and for one another.  This is a great way to keep all of our material in one place and replace the excess emails from each other!

Shared Drives

My favorite feature is the accessibility of the shared drives. It makes it easier for me to shared my materials with other teachers and to look at past materials others have created. The shortcut feature also makes the process more concise, as I can choose the folders I access most often to appear in my drive. This process overall helps teachers work together more efficiently, as there is a central location for materials to go.

Sarah Flascher Google Workspace: Shared Drive Level 1

My favorite feature of shared drive is the ability to create a shared drive with a small or large group of people in which all invited members can comment and add to the drive.  I also like that I can add a shortcut from the shared drive that shows in my drive (that provides quick and easy access to files and documents).

Shared drives

Shared drives make digital collaboration easy and efficient without sending email attachments. It is extremely functionable. I have multiple shared drives with different organizations and professional resources; shared drives makes it possible to quickly access them all from my drive shortcuts.
