I love that in a shared drive you do not need to give permissions for every file within the folder.  Knowing the different  sharing settings was useful to see the difference between drive and shared drive.  I like that you can also make shortcuts from a shared drive into your own drive.  I use my drive often but thinking that some of the documents will be better in a shared drive that I share frequently.  I think knowing the difference between the 2 has really helped me to see different ways to organize my files.

My favorite feature is being able to have access to so many resources all in one place. My school has many folders with great resources such as pacing guides and assessment information. I do find myself navigating to the shared drive to find the same document time and time again. Now that I know I can add a shortcut to my own drive it will be even easier to find the resources I am looking for. The shared drive makes staying organized so much easier.

Shared Drives

My favorite feature of shared drives is that each member can easily access and share files in a central location. The OTs and PTs have a shared drive. It's where we share activity ideas, update supply and testing orders, manage schedules, and share informational materials for parents and teachers. Having a shared drive has made our department more productive and organized.

Shortcuts

My favorite feature is being able to add shortcuts to my drive from other shared drives. My school has many folders in it's shared drive so being able to add a shortcut to the my most frequently used shared files is very helpful. I like that I can put the shortcut into my own drive and folder and can have easy access to the files I need.

Creating Short Cuts from Shared Drives to My Drive

I like the idea of creating shortcuts from Shared Drive folders to My Drive. For example, I created a shortcut to easily access my sub folder within the Shared Drive of all sub folders for the building. I also created a shortcut to access my class's yearbook photo folder from the yearbook Shared Drive.

Emily Richey - Shared Drive Level 1 Reflection

My favorite feature about shared drives is that multiple people can collaborate on one folder. I would like to create shared drives for my seventh-grade science team because we share documents throughout the year, but we don't have an organized way to view all these documents. Most of these documents are currently lost somewhere in my "Shared with Me" folder or in my email. I would like to create a shared drive where we can upload materials we have created to easily be able to share and utilize different assignments and worksheets throughout the year. I also really like the Shortcut option so that I can easily find folders in my shared drives within my own drive. I am excited to use shared drives in a more organized way!

I love that you can add a shortcut to a shared folder or file to another folder.  This makes sharing information with team members much easier.  I like that you can update the document and everyone will see the changes that are being made.  This works especially nice for documents that are frequently changing.

Organization

I love how organized I can be. I like to create folders, folders within folders, to keep all subject and content easy to find. I like to color code as well. I co-teach so having shared drives and resources making planning and prep easy!

My favorite feature of shared drive is just being able to quickly and efficiently organize documents into whichever category I want.  I like that you can create shortcuts and share with others easily.  The email all in the shared drive feature is something I did not know existed and will definitely be using in the future!

Favorite Feature

My favorite feature of this tutorial is the ability to share shortcuts from shared drives to my drive.  I feel this helps me to organize and easily access shared material that I need and not struggle to find something later.  I also like that shared drives allow creators to give different rights to the drive with colleagues.  I was unaware of this feature.

I love the organization and ability to easily share documents as a srp with teachers . We use the shared drive to share resources and schedules as well as help know others

Great for collaboration

I really like shared drives and how it is easy to manage access for all the different collaborators. It is a great shared space for colleagues to create and edit documents. It saves everyone time since all documents are at our fingertips - you don't have to ask someone to share a document with you, it's automatic. I also like that multiple people can work on shared documents at the same time, as well as the options to create subfolders for even better organization. My department has a shared folder for lecture and lab classes - it is so easy to share and collaborate on these resources!
