Reflection

My favorite feature of using the Shared Drive is the ability to quickly and efficiently share folders and files. It makes for simple and organized collaboration and communication. The ability to hide some of the less frequently used shared drives very is helpful and prevents my drive from becoming overrun with those that I do not regularly access. 

I typically do not work with a large group, so my experience is limited when using shared drives. However, after watching this video and poking around in my history, I was able to find a lot of clean up that is needed with my files. I think I will be able to batch files into folders for completed school years and see if I can not remove LOTS of stars that I used in the past as a way to find things quickly. This was a terrific video, thanks!

The Shared Drive allows for seamless collaboration among colleagues throughout the district.  The files belong to a team of people.  Team members can keep sharing at anytime on any device.  The security measures and permissions make files secure.  My favorite feature is the shortcut.  I am thrilled to know how to use short cuts and place my most used files in my drive.  

I love how easy it is to collaborate with others using shared drives.  Professionally, it allows for better communication and faster sharing of information.  It is also great for making sure information is current for those who need access.  For example, the district has created shared sub plan folders and I was able to add shortcuts to it for my substitutes to access my current schedule and plans.  As a shortcut in a shared drive, I can make changes on my documents and know that a substitute has current information at all times.
Personally, it's a great way to share photos among family members after big events too!

The video explaining my drives vs shared drives was very beneficial to me. It is nice that you have control over your own drive and that you can collaborate with others very easily to access documents through the shared drives. I like that there are different controls for the shared drive as well.

My favorite feature is the basic idea of shared drives, the fact that they are shared! The ability to share ideas, content and materials in a drive where everyone in a team can access it is so helpful. My Biology team is able to be so collaborative because of this helpful tool. Something I did not know about shared drives is the fact that there is an "activity" section that tells users what has happened in the shared folder. This can be very helpful for taking a look at anything that has been updated. The last feature that I did not know about before, but will be using now is the starred feature. I use the starred feature all of the time in my email, and now this function can be used in google drive as well!

My favorite feature about google shared drive is the ability to collaborate with different departments and colleagues, while keeping all related information in one area. Everyone can access the files if they are included in the shared group.

Google Shared Drives are incredibly helpful for collaborative projects and I'm excited about some of the new features we learned about.  It is great that we can email the members of a shared drive and I look forward to checking activity within Shared Drives.  As I was reviewing some of the Shared Drives I have, I did notice that it will be helpful to star some of them but others are well overdue to be hidden.

Having shared drives, or team drives, is a very beneficial way for teams/colleagues to collaborate on documents without the need to share files or folders individually with others. Everything within the shared drive is accessible by all parties, making collaboration very easy.

Shared Drive has so many different permission settings that I have not really taken the time to explore until now. This is great to know for some of the committees I am on for when we create content to share out to the building. I also really like the email members feature if you are in a shared group drive. The feature I use the most often is the search to locate a specific file. The ability to hide Shared Drives is helpful because I feel I am a part of so many drives that I do not access often.

I found this video helpful in that it explicitly explained the difference between my drive and shared drives. I knew the differences between the permissions but it helped to see them all written out and explained. I liked knowing I can hide shared drives because there are several I am apart of that I do not use and the clog up my space. Activity is also helpful to know it is available to see as it can hold people accountable for changes within the drive. Adding shortcuts is also interesting because I would often make a copy of the document to make it my own but this doesn't always work so this is a nice alternative.
