How will your newfound ability to create and manage your Google Classroom online learning space impact your teaching? Consider how these skills align with your teaching goals

There are a few new tips that I picked up on during this training. I have been using Google Classroom ever since the year the schools shut down due to Covid. It has enhanced my instruction in so many ways. This training was a great refresher on some of the basics that I sometimes forget by the beginning of the next school year. It will be a great resource to look back on when setting up my class next year. Most of what I am using Google Classroom for now is to make my lessons engaging and to provide reinforcement and enrichment. In this training I was reminded of the gradebook tool. I know a lot of teachers liked using the gradebook during Covid. I do check over students' work on Google Classroom and synching this to a gradebook would give me a better way to track students' success and areas they need to improve upon. The other tip I picked up on was hiding the class code once all students have joined the classroom. I wasn't aware that it is a good practice. In fact, I did not even know that was an option. That is something that I will do right away in my current Google Classrooms as well as classrooms I create in the future.

Google Classroom can really streamline organization and student access to information & assignments. I can post announcements, homework, resources... you name it! Even though I already use Google Classroom with my students, I learned something new here: how to make the classroom code really big so I can project it when I have students sign in at the start of the school year.

I love Google Classroom and have learned that there are 3 different ways in invite students to the class. I also do not utilize the stream often so it is nice to learn more about it and try to utilize it. During block is a great time for students to go onto Google Classroom and work on different activites or as a check in on the stream. It a great tool to reinforce or to use technology within the classroom.

Google Classroom

Google Classroom impacts my teaching because I post assignments or websites for students to use specifically on their Chromebooks, whether it is a research project or a simple game to try, it allows for students to navigate effectively and efficiently.  Google Classroom is a great resource to use and implement with your students!

As a teacher aide, it is helpful to know how to set up Google Classroom so that I can use it to assist students and teachers.  Knowing how to use the same applications as the teachers and staff helps me help everyone else.  I can assist the teachers with posting new items, inviting new students to class, etc.  I can assist the students when they need help as well.  I can also set up a Google Classroom for after-school support for students.

Google Classroom is a great way to add assignments in our classroom that give our students more choice and freedom.  We like to put assignments under different categories such as reading, writing, math, science and social studies! For content areas of teaching, the students always have one center that involves technology.  For example in math, students can chooose to do a math activity that we post or they can utilize dreambox, all through google classroom.  We also can grade and give feedback all on this platform! It is great!

I only taught PE at my old school so this year is really the first time I am utilizing google classroom to it's full potential now that I am in a health classroom. I love being able to really personalize your classroom with the banner and colors. Having the option to add a teacher will be helpful not only when I want to share what we are doing with special ed teachers who may have a student in my class but also for coaching so me and another coach are able to both be apart of the google classroom to get information out to players quickly and efficiently and putting out any material our players may need.

Using Google Classroom will be a great way to help myself and students stay organized.  I will be able to post daily assignments so students have access, even if they forget their physical materials or are absent from school that day.  This will also help speed up the process of handing out worksheets, and turning in/grading assignments.  This will allow me to provide quicker feedback, and in turn help students to receive comments much faster.

Google Classroom 1 reflection.

Having a better understanding of Google Classroom and the management will help me to give my students clear information. I will use STREAM to announce quizzes and tests and use CLASSWORK to post homework and notes.

Google Classroom 1-Making a review classroom

I plan to set up a new Google Classroom as a review classroom for my AP Government students as they prepare for an AP exam.  This would be separate from their one just for class.  This way I can incorporate a posting for each unit of the course with various activities and review sheets so that students can prepare in an organized fashion.

I am excited to begin "re-using" Google Classroom.  The only time I used it previously was for online learning during the pandemic.  I am looking forward to introducing it to my kinders this year.  I think at this point of the year, they are ready to begin.  I will start slowly with just getting them joined and used to getting logged into the Google Classroom.  I would eventually like to attach my Seesaw to the classroom so the class can complete activities through the Google classroom.  I think this will be a great way to get students accustomed to using Google Classroom as they get into older grades.
