This was a great refresher course as I haven't set up a Google Classroom since we were sent home during COVID-19.  I can set up small classrooms within a larger one.

Google Classroo

I use google classroom every year with the students that I chaperone in Washington D.C.  The classroom is easy to set up and I am able to keep in contact with the students and their parents.  I have archived my last class I used in Washington so that I can go back and look at it for pointers for the new class.

Google Classroom

Google Classroom has made such a positive impact on my instruction. It helps my students have access to materials we use weekly and increases engagement. One way I use Google Classroom is for reinforcement/review of material. My students work on self checking assignments such as pixel art. I post showdown math reviews allowing students to collaborate on what they've already learned. It's also a great place to post links that we use each week such as EPIC, First in Math, and Keyboarding.

A few new things I picked up on were the tip to hide the class code once all students have joined the class. I also learned that it's possible to insert a class roster using Powerschool. This video would be a great refresher for the beginning of the school year. I would like to learn more about how to use Google Classroom to keep track of data and have a better understanding of what parents can view and the information they receive when they are connected to their child's account.

Using Google Classroom will help me share information with students, as well as control interactions. This new found information will assist me with properly adding students from files shared via PowerSchool, therefore maintaining accurate enrollment as well as including support staff. Additionally, I can now customize notifications, use the proper terminology, and correctly utilize features within the application.

Google Classroom is an essential tool in my daily practice as a classroom teacher. Prior to the pandemic I began utilizing the features of Classroom to provide my students with remote access to all materials, tools, links and instructional activities completed in class (print direct instruction/modeling to PDF and post daily in Classwork by unit and date). At the outset, I used Classroom as most of a "forum" to post the aforementioned; however, as I became more familiar with other functionalities within G-Suite, I began using Google Classroom to assign, grade, evaluate data and more.

Google Classroom has changed the world of teaching! Having this shared learning space students know exactly where to go, how to get announcements, how to access materials as well as where to complete assignments. It is a way to organize your cirriculum in a space that students understand how to use and quickly access. It has changed the way I teach as I am able to use google docs and forms for assignments that I may not have ever used before. It is an extremely valuable learning space!

Google classroom!

Google Classroom is a great tool in the world of teaching. This Helps with Srps communication with teachers and students. Google Classroom is also amazing for Organizing different projects and classroom assignments. I like that you can put different people as co-teachers. This helps me because if I need to assign a test and the teacher is absent it allows me to post.

Google Classroom

My students use Google classroom daily. I post their morning work, block time schedule, and assignments for ELA. Google classroom makes it easy for teachers to post/grade and students to to find assignments. I like the notifications that come to my email to tell me a student posted an assignment or someone commented on an assignment that needs attention. I can give feedback this way!

Some of the knowledge I learned reinforced many things I already knew.  This video will be helpful in September as I never seem to remember how to create a classroom even though I have done this for several years.  Ha! Exporting a class from Power school is always tricky for me. I need to remember to archive classes from year to year.  This will prevent former students from accessing the stream. One new piece of knowledge was turning off the class code so it cannot be shared and only the students who belong in the class are allowed to join.  Removing a student is important to remember when students leave.  I loved the suggestions for the various things that can be done on stream.  I usually only add a message, but I like the idea of adding a photo, video, etc.  I think it would be neat to post a “Photo of the Day”.  I also like the idea of starting a class conversation.  That is a nice way to get the students started working while I am getting organized.  I love the way that the teacher can control the stream.  Students can be restricted from commenting.  Many times the posts of students are just nonsense.

Kerra Mazzariello Google Classroom: Impactful Teaching

Google Classroom is a great tool for communicating with both students and colleagues. As a special area teacher, I plan to disseminate information to either individual classes or grade levels as a whole throughout the school year. I recently became a co-teacher with a classroom teacher's Google Classroom while we were working on a research project and this helped greatly. I was able to add information and resources to her class stream for students to access for their projects. It was great to have everything in one spot for them, too, making both the communication and accessibility seamless for everyone.

Google classroom is great and helps to communicate more effectively. It is a great way to organize, structure and manage classrooms. It encourages paperless sharing and provides a platform for communicating with students. This will also allow teachers to save time, keep classes organized, and improve communication with students.

I will be using these google classroom pages daily for the organization of different handouts and assignments through google classroom. I use the stream for quick announcements for students and the classwork section for note materials and assignments. I have turned the ability for students to post in the steam off. The reminder about archiving classes as the end of the year is also helpful as student pages can get very clustered with all of the google classrooms they are in.
