Reflection

This was a great refresher course on using google classroom.  One way that I find google classroom to be useful is when students miss assignments.  I think it is great that you are able to assign work to individual students.  This gives teachers the ability to customize student work and assignments. 

Being able to manage the google classroom will be super helpful. I can post all the notes that were taken in class. This way students who are absent are able to follow along with what they missed in class. I can also post what happened every day in class so students know what they may have missed. 

In the stream I can post important items that pop up. I can also post reminders of quizzes and tests that are upcoming. 

Google classroom can be a great tool for me to utilize but also for students to utilize to make sure they are not falling behind.

This class was a great refresher.  I like to use the Google Classroom to post choice board assignments/links for Math, Science, and Social Studies.

This course was a great refresher to setting up a Google Classroom and immediately change the setting to my personal preferences.  I like that students can be added ahead of time versus share the code to join.  This will be a huge time saver for sure.  

As a former 100% Remote teacher during the pandemic, google classroom was a MUST! It was one of the areas where I found some of the most success for both myself and my students. Students used google classroom daily and they knew that anything we talked about on our zoom meetings they would be able to find assignments or post evidence of their learning to on the various tabs provided on google classroom. I use google classroom much less these days, but I still organize my posts in a very similar fashion so that students can view posts according to specific subjects or importance.

I am not a teacher therefore I won't be able to use what I have learned, But it was interesting to see and learn how the classroom teachers set up there Google classrooms and select students. 

Being an aide and not a teacher I could still use these skills to set up a class for Frontline if I wanted.  I am enjoying learning these new skills, and I could also use them to assist a teacher if needed.

As a teacher Aide, I'm glad I took this class so if a teacher would like me to create or post for them on the goggle classroom I can confidently.

As a primary teacher, google classroom isn't used as consistently as the older grades.  My students are able to use google classroom for templates for projects as well as our daily phonics lesson work mat.

I created a Google Classroom Class (Digital Badging).  I customized a banner and chose a color for this class.  I, now, know five different methods for students to join the classroom (give them the class code to join the class, send them an invite link, I can add the students' email to the Google Classroom and have an invite link sent to their Google classroom, or I can generate an email list from either PowerSchool or PowerSchool Pro and go tot he people tab and add them).  I can go to the people tab and also add a co-teacher.  I posted an announcement on the stream.  I learned to delete or mute student's comments from the stream or not allow them to post anything in the stream from the settings button.  I can change the email notifications for all my Google Classroom students by using the settings button on the left side.  I understand the difference between archiving and deleting a Google Classroom.  Never delete, always archive.

Some of the knowledge learned is the use of creating a class in google classroom. only allowing the teacher to add comments and adding a co-teacher..

I love the feature of posting an announcement for students to see and then complete a task. I don't usually post in my stream, and because of this, I think an announcement will stand out to the kids. It is an efficient way for kids to respond to a prompt and then react to someone else's response.
