Sarah Flascher Google Classroom Level 1

My newfound ability to create and manage my Google Classrooms online learning space will impact my teaching.  I will use google classroom for the 3 sections of Social Studies and Science that I teach with each section having their own google classroom set up.  I will also use google classroom for the various clubs that I run at South Davis (student council, wellness, and stage crew). It is a great way to ensure that all my students are receiving the same information.

Teaching High School in 2025

Teaching high school classes and having the ability to utilize Google Classroom is invaluable in 2025.  I know that when I was in college, it was just the beginning of using classroom management program such as Blackboard and Angel.  This is just the way that students get information from their instructors whether it is a full virtual learning experience or a traditional classroom.

Google Classroom- Michele Hall

Google Classroom will allow me to post daily to all students.  I am able to post slideshows for notes (allowing students that missed class due to absence/lesson) a chance to see what we learned and keep up on their work, as well as homework assignments, videos, extras such as review games and announcments.  Learning how to turn on/off the notifications is very helpful and I can extend this learning to students as well, so that they can do the same (and not have their emails flooded with notifcations every time a teacher posts something).  This is also a great way for me to keep records of what I did the year before, as I can date/organize the posts each week and see what I did at this time a year ago.

Google Classroom

Google Classroom will provide on organizational space for all classwork and activities. I post daily lessons, assignments, announcements, additional resources, and utilize the calendar. My goal is to provide a landing space for each of my classes. In this way Google Classroom is a digital space for students to access our work even when they are absent.

How I'll use what I've learned

While I have set up a Google Classroom previously, I'll use what I learned in this course to help me navigate notifications, as well as to efficiently add and remove students from my classroom.

Google Classroom Reflection

Google Classroom will allow me to post reminders for students, meet the needs of students with IEPs, and extend my instruction. Through this, I can provide digital materials to my students. I also can include additional resources (videos, Blookets, etc.) I will be very helpful to also have my co-teachers involved on the same Google Classroom page!

Google Classroom for Clubs and Block Activities

Google Classroom has helped my co-teacher and I organize how we run Student Council. Since the council only meets once a month, Google Classroom has allowed us to share and collect important information with council members during the weeks in which we do not hold a meeting. Additionally, a separate Google Classroom can help organize activities during block and/or center time, and provide independence through links to activities that students may complete during independent centers.

This tutorial was great to refresh my memory on using Google Classroom!  I used Google Classroom a great deal of the time during Covid.  However, after watching this tutorial I have recognized that I can use it more in my current classroom than I thought.  I would like to post math games for the children to use during instructional time through Savvas.  The children are able to play independently, as well as with a partner.  I also use Google Classroom to post music and instructions for our 2nd grade play.  I encouraged the children to not post on the stream- but was not aware that I could disable their streaming until watching this tutorial.  I also learned how to archive classrooms vs. deleting them.  Thank you!

Emily Richey - Google Classroom 1 Reflection

My ability to create and manage my Google Classroom will be helpful in teaching Science to create a place for online discussion between students. I want to create announcements in my Google Classrooms for Science and Homeroom that students will be able to comment their opinions and answers to scientific questions to create a virtual discussion. I also want to use my Google Classroom as a resource for my students to be able to find materials from my class. In this way, I will post the note sheets and slideshows that students can review when the have been absent or have questions concerning the content we have already covered. Having an online location where students can find and review materials allows them to be independent learners and be successful throughout the year.

Kelly Buck

This is my first time using Google Classroom so I am still figuring out all of the logistics of the program. I did not know about some of the setting options.  I like that you can turn off comments so that students can not comment to each other unless you want them to. I also did not know the difference between archiving and deleting a class. I plan on archiving classes so that I can access them again if I need materials from them.

This was a wonderful course in Google Classroom since what I have done in the past is through trial and error.

Google Classroom Reflection - Clare Zgaljardic

It is always a great reminder of how to set up and use google classroom.  We use Classroom daily during our students blocktime and find it a very useful hub for students independent work.
