Reflection

I didn't notice too many things that have changed from year to year other than that the ELLevation website is going to be a bit different, and that that will be covered in another video.

I have learned that we have different Tiers that were created so we were able to integrate them into our TEKS on  how we can adjust and support our lesson and supporting those ELL students.

In all content areas!

Incorporating ELPS and language instruction is important in all content areas--not just ELA. Reading/writing proficiency can help in any subject.

ELPS - ELPS Academy is a vital resource teachers can use to help create ideas and hands on for our ELs within each class content. .

ELL

Students in grade 3 and higher at beginning or intermediate proficiency levels need extensive intervention in order to succeed. We need to integrate language into all content areas, and give them to opportunities to read, write, speak, and listen. We also need to give them frequent targeted practice, which is good for everyone, not just ELL students.

My biggest takeaway is that ELPS are integrated into the TEKS. That teachers aren't being asked to teach Eng. but incorporate current levels

Takeaway … ELPS needs to be connected to all content areas and taught in all subject areas.  All students will benefit from these practices.
