Reminded me...

Talking about ELPS in the video reminded me of an account I had from teaching at Ferris on on TEKS resource system. I still have access! On the IFD page that goes along with any given unit, they list recommended ELPS to go along with each topic; when I click on the ELPS standard, it shows me what that ELPS standard is. Very easy!

We can still integrate language learning opportunities in all subjects, providing frequent practice times to develop communication skills.

Evidence of Watching first video

It was good to refresh exactly what the content and language objectives where.

There are different assessments used to identify ELLs after they have been identified by the survey as someone who speaks another language other than English.

How we revamped in 2007-2008 Texas' EL requirements. This required every content area to integrate the ELPS into all TEKS even if there is only 1 EL in your class.

Honestly, integrating ELPS into Theatre is really simple. We write, speak, read and and listening all the time. It's Theatre. They read scripts, write scenes, act and speak and of course listen and critique other performances!

There are different levels of ELs, and they can have a different proficiency for each acquisition.

Again, performance based activities for Theatre... Got it!

ELPS are to be implemented in instruction of foundation and enrichment subjects.

I learned  that ELPS are  required to be implemented for the instruction in foundation and enrichment subjects.  I knew that ELPS were implemented in the foundation subject area but did not realise that they were implemented in enrichment subjects such as music, PE and art.
