Goals for Cue 16

Looking forward to finding new ideas for my teachers, supporting colleagues who are presenting, and finding ways to better integrate technology into my own work.

I want to meet new educators. I would also like to meet and talk to the BreakoutEDU people. I want to know more about badges.

I am a very shy person, so meeting new people will be difficult.  During my time here at CUE I've met so many new teachers.  Tracy at the Lego session is a first grade teacher, she is so excited to bring back Legos to her classroom.  I got to participate in a BreakoutEDU Time Warp game.  I love Breakouts and I think they are so important, and not just a game.  They build teamwork, collaborate with other kids, and uses critical thinking.  I am writing this so I can earn a badge...I love this idea and am so excited to complete this.

My Learning Goals

My goal is to learn how to integrate more technology into my ELA lessons. I'm looking to teach lessons where the technology goes deeper than just typing up a paragraph.

Tech is a tool to help humans interact with one another. It's an awesome tool, but the human interaction is always what matters most.

I'm interested in learning how I can help teachers do their job better. As a newly-hired District Education Technology Specialist, it's now my job to coach teachers on how to use tech tools to enhance their teaching. I believe technology is not an end unto itself--it is always a tool to help humans interact with one another.

Looking to share and connect with my fellow tech coaches and educators!

Before coming to CUE, my main goal was to find new tools and ideas that I could share with my teachers that enhance student engagement and learning.  I was also interested in learning about upcoming instructional tech trends.

After attending several sessions, I have learned about new teaching and coaching strategies, as well as awesome programs and apps.

I want to learn more about awesome tools to share with teachers and students at my school. Google Forms, maps, coding, and so much more!

I've enjoyed so much and I'm only halfway through the conference!  I learned more tricks for Google forms, how to use layers and insert images in Google my maps, and so much more!
I can't wait to explore using what I've learned with students.  Students can create forms, students can create maps.  Let the students CREATE.  So many more things I've learned and will be learning.. Thanks CUE.

As a first year TOSA, or in our district, Instructional Coach, I am continually learning.

YCUSD is piloting 1:1 at a few schools this year. At some point there will be a massive roll-out, I need to be prepared. In addition, my site, is still very hesitant to utilize "tech" in the classroom. This year the learning curve has been steep for me, as well as the teachers I support. Baby steps all year, kinda feeling like I have bound feet!
