Digital Badging is learning tech skills at your own pace and time.  In this "intro" you learn how to take a screen shot and submit your evidence.  You will be instructed on how to complete your workflow so you can continue learning and acquire more badges.

Digital badging is a professional development opportunity for teachers that allows them to take short courses at their own pace about topics that interest them. It allows for personalization in the specific topics a teacher chooses and flexibility in when and where they complete requirements. Once all requirements are met for a certain topic and the information submitted is reviewed, a teacher is awarded a badge.

Digital badging is a process that is completed online at the pace of the learner. Learners become proficient in a specific skill or set of skills. You must register, join the badge, complete the criteria needed to obtain that badge, then submit your evidence for review. Once you are awarded the badge, it will be available for the learner to display as a web-based, clickable icon that contains unique verifiable metadata.

Digital badging is a method of recognizing skills or achievements in a digital format at your own pace. The process begins with requesting approval from the district in frontline, and then joining the group of the badge that you are completing. After completing the tutorial and requirements for that particular badge, you will submit evidence of learning.

Digital Badge Process

This is how one learns something new and receives credit for it.  Digital badging is a form of micro-credentials, you have control over when, where, path, and pace you would like to learn this new information.  These badges can be customized to meet the learners' needs.  They certify that you are proficient in specific skills.  Feedback is given upon completion of the badge.  So to be able to complete a badge, you must sign up.  Go to Frontline and register.  Once your registration is approved, you can start learning. Once you are done (submitting all the evidence and snapshots), you wait for the awarded to review that evidence and snapshots.  They will give you feedback and award your badge if you have met all the requirements.  You must request feedback, be sure to click the button so that the awarded is aware you have completed the badge.  You then wait for an email.  The email lets you know that you have earned the badge.  Once earned you need to download your certificate and save it.  Go back to Frontline.  Click on my info and upload your certificate.  Once everything is complete, click on my learning plan and click manage (badge name).  Next, fill out the evaluation form and mark it complete.  Be sure to click on the correct certificate.  Then you wait for the  approval.

DB is a tool that can be used to further skills in a short amount of time. DB is an efficient way to work on furthering education on your own time. I think this is a great idea and will be a helpful tool.

Digital Badging seems like a great professional development opportunity. It allows users to take short classes to aquire specific skills or a set of skills at their own pace.  Basically, teachers need to sign up for a specific badge through Frontline, then access the badging course through the OP Tech Hub. Then they click on a specific badge, complete all activities required, and upload the necessary evidence. Once submitted, teachers will receive feedback on their evidence. If all aspects of the badge have been completed, teachers will then be awarded an official badge.
