Emily Richey - Google Workspace Drive Level 1

My favorite feature of Drive is being able to add shortcuts to other documents in Drive into my own Google Drive folders. This will help me organize documents and folders that have been shared with me into my own drive, leading me to be able to better manage my documents and collaborate with other teachers. I also really like the feature where I can upload Microsoft documents into Google Drive and have them converted directly to Google Documents. This will help me easily be able to share documents as assignments to my students in Google Classroom. I am excited to be able to better organize my Google Drive so that my co-teacher and I can find documents easily and collaborate on assignments for our students.

I like the idea of color coding folders so that you can find resources quicker. I changed all my subject folders to the same colors as I have the students use for class. This is a good way to help my brain remember the colors and for me to quickly find what I am looking for.  I also love that you can share whole folders to team members. This makes sharing materials easy and efficient.

Organizing all the files on my drive has helped me tremendously!  Each year I am able to continuously add new documents or find old documents quickly and efficiently.  My favorite part is being able to color code the files to make it look more appealing.

Drive Faves

My favorite feature of Drive is the ability to personalize folders for organization.  The ability to color code and add emojis to the labels makes organizing easier to recognize and access.  Being able to share files that are already created with subfolders with colleagues is a time-saving way to collaborate and share information from anywhere at any time.  This is a bonus when schedules to match and planning periods are not synced.

Organization

I really think creating and using folders and  and Shared Drives makes it easy to organize the mass amount of mail I receive. Organizing documents into folders and shared drives helps keep the important information easy to access. Organization is crucial for keeping teachers life manageable.

I love to organize all of the things and having a neat and tidy drive is motivating. I love the idea of emojis in titles and organizing by color.

Using Drive to share club documents

Drive has been helpful in sharing the work we need to do for the HS literary magazine. I collect submissions of art and writing from students via a Google Form, then I organize those submissions into a shared folder for the members of PULSE to review.

My favorite feature of Google Drive is how easy it is to share materials with others. I love that it is easy to share files or folders with others and give them different levels of access. For example, I can provide students with viewing access only,  but my co-teacher has Editor access. It makes life so easy—no need to create a thousand documents. I also love that it makes assigning these documents in Google Classroom super easy!

Lucie Wyatt- Response for Google Drive

There are many features of Google Drive that I find very helpful but my favorite two are: making subfolders and sharing folders with colleagues. When I make a folder in Drive I usually make it a broad category (Example- Unit 1 ELA). It is so helpful to make subfolders for each area I plan to cover in that unit, instead of having too many general folders cluttering up my main Drive page. Being able to share folders is so useful. Sharing with colleagues is such an important part of being a teacher. When I share a folder, I can get input and share ideas with everyone in a grade-level or all of the teachers that are helping/teaching the same material.

Ryan Farley

My favorite feature of Drive is the ability to share resources with others quickly and easily. I enjoy sharing activity ideas and therapy resources with parents, teachers, and other related service providers. It's great to have the option to adjust the share settings. Mastering some of the features of Drive has helped me become more organized and productive. I know exactly where to look to find certain documents and how to share them with others. Working on the same document (e.g., therapy supply order) has helped our department become more efficient and learn from one another.
