Having an organized Google Drive will create an easier work flow.

Google Drive is a platform that I use daily. I often find myself searching for resources by title in the search bar but this is usually an issue. What I think I named something is never accurate and then I find myself going down a rabbit hole to locate what I am looking for. Having an organized drive will ensure that with a few clicks I can find just what I need.

Google Drive

These features of Google Drive can help one to stay organized and efficient in keeping files and documents. Creating a shared folder or drive can allow for the documents to be easily accessible with your coworkers.  You are able to collaborate in real time and maximize your efficiency as a teacher.

Sarah Flascher Google Workspace:Drive Level 1

One of my favorite features of Drive is the ability to create folders and sub folders within those folders.  I also like that I have the flexibility to share those folders with my coteacher, team members, parents, or just about anyone that has the link.  Another great feature is the ability to create and organize files.  There are a ton of really great organizational tools in Drive!

Google Drive

My favorite feature in Google Drive is the organizational folders. Through this, it is easy for me to categorize my materials. I also like that I can create folders within folders. This makes it so I can separate my content within a unit into various categories. It is also extremely helpful that I can share that information with my co teachers. By making a shared folder, it is simple for me to add materials everyone can access in real time. Co-planning with my department is also improved through shared folders, as everyone can input their documents into one central location.

Organization

My favorite feature of Drive is the ability to customize it any way you see fit - what I also love is that if you realize the way you had it doesn't suit you, it is very easy to customize it based on your current preferences.  Overall, I just love this setup of using Drive and it makes working at home or on the go so easy.

My favorite feature of Drive  is how all of your resources can be organized in one place. It makes it so easy to keep track of resources used each year. Being able to quickly find resources from previous years allows me to make adjustments and improvements to past lessons instead of starting from scratch. I have a folder for each core content area. Within each folder I have subfolders for each unit in order to easily keep track of the materials. Collaboration is another great feature. The shared drive is such a helpful resources. Knowing that I can find materials and pacing guides for each unit all in one spot saves so much time. I have shared entire folders with teaches who are new to the grade level and have shared assignments I've created that have worked well for my students. What I love about sharing in Drive is that you can share and give access to editing rights to collaborate on a project in real time, or you can make the other person a viewer in order to ensure changes aren't made to your original creation. I have also found the sharing to be incredibly helpful when co-planning in an ICT classroom.

Colored folders and Emoji organization

I never knew you could change the colors of your folders.  I love adding the emoji icons to move folders to the top.  Using the drive has helped me to share folders of work with colleagues so that we can collaborate on projects.  It has also allowed me to organize assignments for students and different resources needed for each class taught.

Organize info in folders

I love being able to organize materials in google folders, and never thought of adding emojis to quickly view my folders. I think color coding folders and adding emojis will really help me to keep my digital files organized and easily accessible. I wasn't aware of how to convert a microsoft file into google drive and into a google doc so that was a helpful tip for me!

Colored Folder Organization and Shortcuts!

I love everything that Google Drive has to offer. Storing resources and instructional activities within my Google Drive has been life-changing. I like to organize folders regarding thematic learning, such as activities related to holidays and seasons with a color and an emoji. I also like to add shortcuts as a means of storing my resources within various folders. For example, an acorn themed phonics activity may be included in Fall and Phonics folders through the use of the shortcut feature.

This Google Drive presentation was very helpful to me for many reasons.  I have used Google Drive for many years, however, did not fully understand the different features I could use to organize my drive.  I worked on organizing folders that were duplicates and saving files where they belonged.  I saved shared folders in a space that I could easily access them.  I also liked the refresher on sharing folders and links with the privacy settings and using the “ viewer” and “editor” for others to use.
