Reflection

My daughter has mentioned GoGuardian being used in her middle school. I wondered exactly what it was and how it was utilized. I am so excited that I learned more about it and set up my first class.  I plan on using it with my Second Grade ICT class, too. 

Using GoGuardian will enhance my ability to create more engaging and productive lessons by ultimately keeping our kids safe while using the internet. Monitoring what they are viewing takes out the fear factor that students are not viewing what they should be Next, the use of GoGuardian will help students stay focused on the learning they are supposed to be doing. GoGuardian will help students be less distracted by minimizing students navigating away from the sites they are supposed to be on.  For both of these reasons, GoGuardian will help with productive online experiences. I would like to learn more about GoGuardian. It seems like this website offers many more features that I would like to learn about and utilize in class.

I like that GoGuardian is a tool to monitor that students are using their Chromebooks responsibly.  I like that it can be used as a tool to keep students focused to the assigned task and also to help them complete assignments that require Google searches.  I like the accountability it brings to classroom management.  I also loved the idea of being able to use this after school with Homework Hall and detention.  

It's difficult to monitor student's computers when I'm assessing other students. This makes it so much easier to make sure students are going on the right sites. It also is nice because when the time is up, the computers go off. I've been looking for something like this to use with my students.

You can use go guardian for a multitude of purposes. You can use a test mode to ensure students are not cheating and can be monitored. You can also use this to check for understanding.

GoGuardian is a great website for monitoring students' work on a Chromebook. It allows the teacher to facilitate the app that helps students learn safely, stay focused, and get engaged. I wish I would have known about this when I was teaching 5th grade in previous years. It would have allowed me to make sure that the students were on task and searching for information on the correct platforms. It is sometimes hard to monitor 24 Chromebooks, especially during times like block. This would have been a very useful tool.

I was somewhat familiar with GoGuardian and what it generally did; but was never able to see the interface and use it as I am not a classroom teacher.  I wanted to become more familiar with it because it is something that our teachers use.  I am so glad I was able to log in and see how it works so that I can be more knowledgeable when speaking about it and hearing about it throughout the school.  I think this is a great tool to keep students on task as well as monitoring their content for things that may need to be addressed by administration or counseling.

I love the idea of being able to give the students the freedom with their Chromebooks, yet still having control of how they use it :)

By using GoGuardian, I will be able to monitor my students' on-line activity during class time so I can make sure they are all working productively on their Chrome books.  

I am excited to use the program. I will use it in my Psychology elective course. They research disorders as part of their final projects. During the research phase, they sometimes get distracted and need reminding to stay on task.  This is an excellent program to teach students accountability. 

GoGuardian is new to me.  This would be helpful in my first grade classroom because I often have kids who are having trouble closing out tabs because they have opened too many and can hear multiple websites at once.  Using GoGuardian would allow me to see what they are seeing on their Chromebooks.  I also like that I can monitor what they are doing and make sure they are on the games or activities I want them to be on.

Once I feel comfortable using GoGuardian in the classroom I think it will be very useful. On a daily basis I will be able to ensure that students are doing what they are supposed to be working on when Chromebooks are out. I can also help direct students to helpful websites when the class is doing research. That can be a timesaver.

Go Guardian is new to me as a Kindergarten teacher.  I did not know much about how to use it.  It would be a great way for me to help my students navigate their chrome books, as everything is new to them this year.  It would be an easy way for me to see what they are working on and if they get into "trouble" while trying to use different programs.  Very useful and informative session.
