I love GoGuardian! This program allows teachers so much more control than LanSchool.  Rolling this program out at the middle school last year was so rewarding.  Teachers were amazed and felt like they had control and flexibility in their classrooms again.  This program is a Win-Win in my books.

GoGuardian is an incredible tool to help keep students focused on their work. As soon as students see that GoGuardian is on, they are aware that the teacher is able to see their screens and control which websites they are on by creating scenes. I love that GoGuardian gives reports of which websites students were on and for how long. I use it often to present my screen to students so that they can learn to navigate where to go or how to code a particular sequence. Also, the messaging and screenshot options are quick ways to help students get back on task.

GoGuardian is a fantastic way to ensure that students are on-task and engaged with course content. The ability to set "scenes" and view timelines of student web usage undoubtedly makes for a more productive classroom. It allows the teacher to focus more on specific content and less on monitoring of internet usage for each classroom while simultaneously encouraging students that might otherwise wander off task to remain focused on what is most important.

GoGuardian is a great online tool that teachers can use in their classrooms to monitor student activity on Chromebooks and keep students on task during in-class work. GoGuardian provides teachers with an (almost) live look at what students are doing on their personal devices and the ability to control student access. I can force close students out of certain tabs, create Allowed and Blocked website lists, lock devices, chat with students, generate reports, and more. Use of GoGuardian will allow me to better monitor my students while they are completing online work to keep students on-task and engaged in class.

GoGuardian can help enhance the classroom by allowing students the ability to work digitally, but with the limitations to keep them on task. GoGuardian has functions that allow the number of tabs to be limited, a list of sites that students cannot access during a session (called a scene) and functions where the teacher can shut tabs or simply view a student's screen. I use GoGuardian especially while my students are taking a Formative quiz so that I can ensure they are focused only on the task at hand, not switching between tabs or trying to find answers.

GoGuardian can help students remain focused in class when the temptation to explore other websites is eliminated. Students will automatically be less likely to get on random websites if they know the teacher has access to see what they are doing. I can use this when I am giving a quiz with Formative. I warn the students that I have GoGuardian running so that if they try to cheat or search the question, I can see what they are doing. It keeps students honest.
