Part 3: Reflection

I think, overall, we will see teaching and education change as AI develops. However, I strongly believe AI will not replace a teacher in a classroom. I think students coming to us will be much more technologically prepared to use AI to assist in their schooling. AI is definitely going to change life moving forward and in most job industries. I do think we will see AI, as mentioned in the video, helping with Zoom calls and aiding in how we do most aspects of our jobs.

Education is playing a major role in the use of AI. We are some of the first interactions that students may have in trying to use AI and learning how to use it. It's important that as educators, we embrace AI and recognize its long-term impact on students and our teaching. We have a very powerful role in AI with students; we can teach them how to appropriately use AI, but also the restrictions of AI.

Reflection

Moving forward, I think AI is going to continue to become even a more major part of our daily lives. I don't think we even know what is yet to come! Using AI in the classrooms or industries is going to make simple jobs easier and more efficient enabling people to think more about complex ideas. After a medical scan the other day I was offered the option for $70 to have AI look at the scan to see if the doctor missed anything- I am shocked that even doctors are utilizing AI to ensure accuracy and efficiency. While AI might be a good tool to replace less cognitively demanding jobs- I am not sure I want it to replace experts human brains all the time.

Part 3 Reflection

I think that as the novelty of these generative AI tools wears off, the usage of it is going to moderate. People are going to move from using it for everything to using it as a tool as intended. I’m curious about how its affordability will change over time. Right now people are using it to replace things like doctors visits and tutors because it is free and easily accessible. I worry that some corporations might try to make more of a profit from it, revoking that access.
Education has an imperative to help students navigate the usage of AI as a tool, much like how they helped students navigate using calculators and computers. Outright bans can be dangerous because they don’t help students learn how to use the resource appropriately when they get home. Students still use AI whether they’re allowed to in school or not, but if we help them use it wisely, they’ll know how to do so moving forward. If we make it something that students have to sneak around to use, they won’t know what usages are beneficial to them and which ones are harmful.

AI in the future

1. In the future, I think that AI will become less and less avoidable. Before the AI Overview on Google came out around last year, you could completely avoid using AI if you did not want to. However, as more companies are developing AI and finding ways to use it, it will become increasingly difficult to stay away from.
2. As AI becomes more prominent in our society, teachers will have a huge role in educating students about it. We will have to learn more about it ourselves, but also inform students on how to use AI in an effective way. It is important that students learn about how AI can be helpful to them, but also the dangers we may face as AI becomes more prominent in people's lives.

Life Moving Forward

To be honest, I am not sure my thoughts on AI yet.  I think it is helpful and beneficial to many for many reasons.  I also see the downsides to it- there's something to be said about the "simplicity" of life before all the technological advances.  I think the most important part of it all is that we teach students how to use it, just like any other part of the internet.  If their parents don't teach them about the "dangers" and how to decipher what is false/true and safe/unsafe, who will?  It is up to the educators that already feel like there is not enough time in the day for their curriculum.  In fact, maybe it needs to become part of a curriculum.
Education has a huge role on the use of AI.  We can essentially use it to learn just about anything.  We can use it to create stories, poems, essays, short responses, answers to math problems, conducting an email, creating a lesson plan, etc.  Our students have access to do all of these things as well, so we have to be aware of this and educate them on it.

Part 3

I think AI will likely become a normal part of most jobs and daily life. In coaching or health, for example, it might track player performance, suggest training plans, or even monitor student wellness. I think it will make some tasks easier, but people will still need to use their own judgment instead of relying only on AI.

Education should teach students how to use AI responsibly, like checking facts, applying it to personal goals, and not letting it replace effort, but it should also teach students good media literacy, encouraging them to practice asking questions about the source and message that is being portrayed through AI. As a PE teacher, I could see using AI to help students analyze fitness data, but I’d still expect them to set their own goals and reflect on their progress.

What are your thoughts and possible predictions on industry and/or life moving forward. What role does education have on the use of AI?

AI is likely to become increasingly integrated into both industry and daily life, transforming how we work, learn, and communicate. In industry, AI could automate routine tasks, optimize production, and assist in complex problem-solving, allowing workers to focus on creativity and strategy. In daily life, AI may enhance personalized learning, healthcare, and decision-making, but it will also raise important questions about privacy, ethics, and job displacement. Overall, I predict a future where AI acts as a powerful tool to augment human capabilities, but its benefits will depend on thoughtful implementation and responsible use.
Education plays a crucial role in shaping how AI is used responsibly and effectively. By teaching students AI literacy, critical thinking, and ethical decision-making, schools can help learners understand both the potential and the limitations of AI.  Every student is going to look for ways to use AI to make classes that they don't like, per-say, easier.  But education also guides students in using AI as a tool for learning and creativity rather than a shortcut, preparing them for future careers and everyday life where AI will be an integral part of work, communication, and problem-solving.

Education has the power to ensure that future generations use AI to create, collaborate, and innovate with purpose and integrity.

I can see how AI is reshaping how we live, work, and learn. In industry, I predict we’ll see more automation of routine tasks & faster data analysis. Just like in the past when automation took over in factories, many jobs will evolve—not necessarily disappear—but they’ll require different skills, like critical thinking, problem solving, and working alongside AI tools. In everyday life, AI seems to be becoming more integrated—helping with scheduling, health monitoring, home management, and communication. But this also raises very important concerns about privacy and digital literacy in respects to technology. People will need to be adaptable and open to these changes.

Education plays a critical role in shaping how AI is used. It’s not just about teaching students to use AI tools—it’s about helping them understand how AI works, recognize its limitations, and use it ethically. Schools must prepare students to think critically, ask good questions, and evaluate AI-generated content, rather than blindly accepting it. Educators also need to model responsible AI use and integrate it thoughtfully into lessons—so students learn to see AI as a tool, not simply as a shortcut. Ultimately, education has the power to ensure that future generations use AI to create, collaborate, and innovate with purpose and integrity.

Part 3: Reflection Thoughts on AI and Our Role as Educators

Knowing that I have experience outside of the classroom in insurance/business industry I've had the opportunity to see technology evolve in the workplace, and the AI we have grown to know has been most significant. I think that there will need to be a fine line on the responsible use of AI and its integration. I know that AI use in industry will be a game changer because it has streamlined process like underwriting of policies, ordering records, detecting fraud and making policy recommendations. In insurance it goes beyond efficiency; they are better able to assess risks and provide a better customer experience. In all industries, I predict a continued shift towards automation of repetitive tasks, in doing so humans work will be focused on the tasks that require complex problem-solving, creativity and decision making. In daily life, I think that AI will continue to give us recommendations to help improve daily life. It will provide more convenience and efficiency but I worry about the ethical considerations as AI continues to develop to ensure humans well-being.

As educators I believe that we are no longer imparting knowledge; we have to ensure our students are prepared for the future and it's constantly evolving. In my classroom, we use AI as a tool and I want my students to be comfortable with it's use. When using AI I want my students to understand that AI doesn't have the capabilities to think critically, problem-solve, collaborate or use emotional intelligence and that we need students to understand that these soft skills will differentiate them as an employee in the AI-driven world. I encourage students to use AI in their learning whether it be for researching, brainstorming ideas, or revising rough drafts. With AI developing as quickly as it has it's important as educators that we instill the idea that we are all life long learners so that our students are best prepared for the real-world.

Predictions and educational role on the use of A.I.

I believe that A.I. will completely transform society.  Everyone will be using it and many current jobs will be replaced by A.I.  People will need to learn to use A.I. in order to earn a living. One major concern I have about A.I. is the unethical use to spread propaganda.  It could prove to be destructive, especially when used to spread false narratives in politics.
Educators will have to become A.I. literate and be able to teach it to students. Students will begin training for jobs that don't yet exist.  Current college majors will change and students need to predict which careers will be available in the future. Most importantly, the ethical use of A.I. will need to be taught and governed in order to ensure appropriate use and ways to overtly indicate that videos and audio recordings are A.I. generated.

Thoughts

What are your thoughts and possible predictions on industry and/or life moving forward?
After watching the video, I think AI is going to continue becoming a huge part of both work and everyday life. In the future, I think more jobs will involve working alongside AI (hopefullt not being replaced by AI). People might need to focus more on skills like  emotional intelligence or other things AI isn’t great at. I also think we’ll need to learn how to use AI tools responsibly like how we learned  to use the internet or smartphones when they first came out.

What role does education have on the use of AI?
Education plays a big role in how we use AI. If students learn how AI works and how to use it the right way it can be very helpful.  The video mentioned how important it is for teachers to guide students in using AI to support their thinking, which I think is important to consider. Schools can teach students how to be smart users of AI to make sure they’re still learning and thinking for themselves.

Thoughts about AI and Role as Educators

I still have some concerns about how far AI might go and how it could affect jobs, privacy, and how people interact. It’s a little scary to think about machines doing more and more of what people do. But the more I learn about AI, the more I start to feel better about some of the ways it can help. I’m finding that, if used the right way, it can really make things easier and save time. As long as people stay informed and learn how to use it the right way, I believe AI can be a helpful tool in many parts of life and work.

The Role of Education in the Use of AI

Education is very important when it comes to how AI is used. If students and teachers learn how AI works, they can use it in a smart and safe way. Schools can teach things like how to use AI tools, how to check if the information is right, and how to be careful online. When people understand AI better, they are less likely to be afraid of it and more likely to use it to help with school, work, or everyday life. Learning about AI helps everyone use it in a way that is good and fair.
