Knowing that I have experience outside of the classroom in insurance/business industry I've had the opportunity to see technology evolve in the workplace, and the AI we have grown to know has been most significant. I think that there will need to be a fine line on the responsible use of AI and its integration. I know that AI use in industry will be a game changer because it has streamlined process like underwriting of policies, ordering records, detecting fraud and making policy recommendations. In insurance it goes beyond efficiency; they are better able to assess risks and provide a better customer experience. In all industries, I predict a continued shift towards automation of repetitive tasks, in doing so humans work will be focused on the tasks that require complex problem-solving, creativity and decision making. In daily life, I think that AI will continue to give us recommendations to help improve daily life. It will provide more convenience and efficiency but I worry about the ethical considerations as AI continues to develop to ensure humans well-being.

As educators I believe that we are no longer imparting knowledge; we have to ensure our students are prepared for the future and it's constantly evolving. In my classroom, we use AI as a tool and I want my students to be comfortable with it's use. When using AI I want my students to understand that AI doesn't have the capabilities to think critically, problem-solve, collaborate or use emotional intelligence and that we need students to understand that these soft skills will differentiate them as an employee in the AI-driven world. I encourage students to use AI in their learning whether it be for researching, brainstorming ideas, or revising rough drafts. With AI developing as quickly as it has it's important as educators that we instill the idea that we are all life long learners so that our students are best prepared for the real-world.
