To be honest, I am not sure my thoughts on AI yet.  I think it is helpful and beneficial to many for many reasons.  I also see the downsides to it- there's something to be said about the "simplicity" of life before all the technological advances.  I think the most important part of it all is that we teach students how to use it, just like any other part of the internet.  If their parents don't teach them about the "dangers" and how to decipher what is false/true and safe/unsafe, who will?  It is up to the educators that already feel like there is not enough time in the day for their curriculum.  In fact, maybe it needs to become part of a curriculum.  
Education has a huge role on the use of AI.  We can essentially use it to learn just about anything.  We can use it to create stories, poems, essays, short responses, answers to math problems, conducting an email, creating a lesson plan, etc.  Our students have access to do all of these things as well, so we have to be aware of this and educate them on it.
