Implementation Discussion

I implemented the routine with a small group of teachers.  The introduction of the first two words and the Vocabulary LINCing routine took approximately 20 minutes with additional time to co-construct 2 additional vocabulary words. My students found this routine to be very helpful and will implement this routine in their work with students, once they have completed the necessary professional development.   The example of the student LINCing Table has been posted in the Used Routinely area of badgelist. We discussed using this routine in addition to Word Generation. Word Generation does a nice job providing the academic vocabulary words and provides the opportunities for students to see the words across the content areas.  Although it does go over the term and definition, the addition of the reminding word and linking story might really help the students to cement the meaning of the words.  The Self test will be helpful as new words continually add to their repertoire.
I can really see the benefit of the Vocabulary LINCing routine.  My participants found it to be very helpful and a routine they will definitely use in the future.

Heron 1.25.19 Implementation Portfolio

Per badging requirements, LINCS tables were developed with a small group of participants / adult learners. Participant work is posted in Badge List. There was a single training / instructional session which lasted approximately 30 minutes. Most of the session is documented via audio submitted separately. However, the session continued and included working through 2 additional LINCS tables with participants. Devices and student / participant devices have been uploaded separately within Badge List.

Lincs implementation trial

We went through this routine with our team of consultants to get practice on how everyone will come up with their own ideas to remember the new vocabulary.
