Student Samples

Description of classes and FRAME use.

These FRAME routines were used with both Math 8 (26 students) and Algebra 1 (49 students). They were used on an "as needed" basis, whenever topics lent themselves appropriately to the use of the routine. Typically, a FRAME routine would require anywhere from 20-40 minutes to complete, depending on the complexity of the topic and student prior knowledge. Variations of the routine included the use of a single main idea, multiple main ideas, and also (for Algebra 1 especially) the embedding of graphs within a FRAME to help demonstrate those visual concepts. To see an example of multiple main ideas, you can look at the FRAME on the Real Number System. To examine a FRAME with embedded graphs, look at the collage of Algebra FRAMEs.
