I do not have a twitter account.

Unfortunately, I do not have a Twitter account. However, I learned that it is essential to monitor consistently various digital means of technology by understanding the various privacy laws and how it correctly impacts our students and ourselves.

It was reaffirmed for me that students information should always remain safe, secure, and restricted. I learned how to keep that same guideline online with  different apps and platforms that we use.

I learned that Technology department has bigger responsibilities than fixing our computers. They're working hard to keep our students safe.

Do not use an app if it has negative ratings. Always read the terms and agreements, which we usually tend to ignore.

What did I learn?

I learned that...
-District approved resources are not always 100% safe and secure for student use.
-Third parties can sometimes have access to student information and can use that data for advertising profiles.
-A teacher should always seek advice from district technology staff when using a new application in class.

The course was very helpful.

I learned a lot that I  did not know about student privacy. I also learned how to check for privacy and safety for online apps used in the classroom.

The video is a good overview of privacy requirements in Education. I didn't feel there was a lot of new info, but it was a good review.

Student Data Privacy

I have learned that apps are scored according to how well they protect student information.  It reaffirmed what I already know as it pertains to keep student information private and in a secured location.
