What I learned about privacy

There is such a lot of legaleze when it comes to privacy. It seems that parents and watchdog groups are continuously having to up the laws to try to combat corporate use of PII that can be used for profit making ventures.

FERPA, COPPA, PPRA, PII, PTAC, OMG!

A student needs to be safe, his data needs to be secure, and use needs to be restricted to assure both.

What I learned....

I learned that student online safety is about many things from cyber-bullying to data mining.  It's as much about the overt threats as it is about the hidden threats.  I also learned how to go into an apps website and read their legal jargon to see if they are tying to use your personal information.
