Concept Comparison Routine
On 12/5/18, we learned about the Concept Comparison Routine and then applied the strategy. I chose to compare PaTTAN’s vocabulary routine with the LINCing Routine.

SIM for P2G 12/5/18
We worked through a draft comparing two concepts. I chose to do Phonological Awareness and Phonics.
I think this routine will help students compare to similar topics and draft a strong summary statement around their likes and differences.
1. Comparison Table - comparing concepts, characteristics, like/unlike characteristics, categories, extensions, and summary 2. Concept Comparison Device Checklist 3. 'Comparing' 4. The cue, do, review sequence: what does it sound like - unpack the frame device

12/5/18 Concept Comparison Routine
This is a great routine to compare and contrast two concepts. It was very helpful to practice this with a partner during today's session!

The comparison table is most beneficial for students who have a basic understanding of an instructional component, and through the detailed higher order sorting and critical thinking of differences and similarities, it cements the core concepts of what was taught and students will need to know. Great device for students to use.
