The Concept Comparison Chart is an excellent teaching tool to differentiate instruction for disabled and non-disabled students. This routine goes beyond a typical Venn Diagram. Students are provided an opportunity to dig deeper and develop a better understanding of a topic. I worked with my general education science partner to investigate the 3 different rock groups: Igneous, Sedimentary, and Metamorphic. We would use the chart as a pre-activity to the start of the rock unit. Then, we would build on it through out the unit. Eventually, the chart would be used to review for the unit test.

The concept comparison is very helpful in comparing the 3 different type of Rocks: Igneous, Sedimentary and Metamorphic. Students can use these types of comparisons as a pre-activity looking for misconceptions or as a form of review at the end of a unit.
