Digital badging is a flexible and personalized way for educators to engage in professional development. It allows teachers to explore topics of interest at their own pace, whenever they have a free moment. The process typically involves watching short videos, completing related activities, and then demonstrating learning through a quick reflection.

Digital Badging allows the ability for professionals to choose topics of interest and compatibility based on teaching ages/areas.  It also allows for those taking the classes to complete on their own time and to engage in review as many times as desired in order to become comfortable and to retain the main objectives to use in the future.

Intro. to Badging-Lindsey Kuhrt

Digital Badging lets us do professional development on our own time and choose topics that matter to us. It also gives us a chance to practice the skills we're learning. When we finish a badge, the reviewers give us a certificate. We then upload that certificate to connect it to the badge in Frontline.

Danielle Stelmaszyk Summary of Digital Badging.

In this badge, I learned how to set up the digital badging process. I was showed how to login for the first time, using Google. I was then showed how to select the badge I would like to work on. Before I enroll I have to go into Frontline and put this as one of my courses I'm taking. Once approved I can add the Badge to my profile, this may require a code ( OPMS2023) and then it will be available for me to start. You have to go through the badge and add evidence, summary and possibly a link to learning. After these are completed and you submit the badge you need to download your certificate and post that into Frontline.

What is Digital Badging?

Digital badging is a way for professionals to learn about new topics in small increments.  Digital badging gives information presented in small amount of time over 1-3 hours.  During this time the professional will become proficient in a set of skills and it can be customized to what the professional would like to learn about.

The digital badging process provides teachers with the opportunity to develop a particular skill set and earn a credential on a specific topic. This allows you to learn a specific skill on a digital platform that will enhance your abilities in response to evolving technology. Educators will watch a video or tutorial about the skill, practice it, and reflect on their learning experience. In just a brief timeframe of 1 to 3 hours, teachers will be able to build targeted skills effectively.

Sarah Flascher-Intro to Digital Badging

Digital badging is an alternative to in person learning events. It acknowledges the skills that staff needs and want.  Digital badging is personalized learning to become proficient in a specific skill or skill set with feedback given and then a badge awarded.

Happy Friday!
Digital Badging classes are quick videos that teach you how to use different technology pieces. These classes are short, but provide a brief snapshot of what you need to know to be successful when using school based programs.

Digital badging is a way to learn snippets of information in a short period of time (1-3 hours per badge). It is considered a "micro-credential". First, you need to create your account and join the OPCSD group using the code. Then, the user needs to select the badge in which they are interested in earning. There are requirements for each badge that must be completed, such as screenshots, links and reflections. Evidence must be provided based on each individual badge. After completing all evidence, the user must request feedback. Once feedback has been provided and the user has earned their badge, the certificate must be printed and then uploaded into Frontline to complete for course credit. Credit will then be awarded.

Digital Badging

Digital Badging provides professional development of various platforms on our own time and with topics that are applicable to us. It also gives us opportunities to practice target skills. After completing a badge the badge reviewers will award a certificate. We upload this certificate to attach to the badge registration in Frontline.
