Google Classroom assignments will allow me to organize my classroom so students can see what material is covered each day.  It will also allow me to upload video notes, assignments, examples, and images for students to use to review material that they may have missed, or to prepare for tests/quizzes.  It will also allow me to differentiate between assignments, tests/quizzes, and material so students can see what things must be done versus the things that are just their to supplement their classroom learning.

Reflection GC2

I have a clear understanding of posting assignments and materials to Google Classroom. I am able to share information with my students in a very concise manner so they understand the expectations of the course. I can keep students informed especially if they are absent.

Google Classroom assignments

I have always assigned HW to help students practice the skills they have acquired in class. Using the Google Classroom to post said assignments has really helped students in that they can easily go back and check their work once I have graded it.  They don't need to look through reams of paper to find an assignment, especially when they are studying for a test.  I also allow my students to unsubmit assignments after I have checked for completion on my screen.  We review certain answers and they can add info that can serve as notes to help them further understand certain concepts.

This badge gave me several helpful tips for organizing materials in Google as well as the best way to track assignments.  For example, I liked learning how to have the assignment create an individual copy of a doc for each student.  I also liked that Google creates a new blank quiz when you assign a quiz.  It makes the process more streamlined.

As a counselor, I'm considering using Google classroom to "assign" tasks that students need to do at various times during high school.  This lesson is the beginning of my exploration of the best way to do this.  I think that I may incorporate Google Classroom into the scholarship process so that we can encourage more students to participate in the program.  When students see that something is "assigned" to them, they are more likely to complete it.  If I assign scholarship applications, more students may actually complete those applications and potentially benefit from those resources!

Great course for more in-depth use of Google Classroom

I always used Google Classroom very basically and knew the main features to navigate around it.  This course provided so much great knowledge.  I am not able to create assignments as well as quizzes and video uploads right in the google classroom.  I can use this to help students stay organized within their google classroom.

Google Classroom is a great tool for supporting teacher/student collaboration and interaction. It provides a creative platform for class announcements and gives the ability to share resources with the entire class or individual students. Google Classroom can also help to facilitate class discussions and group projects.

I love being able to use emojis to sort my topics and assignments. This is a user-friendly way to help students find assignments. I think that organization is key when it comes to Google Classroom. I also like that you can reuse assignments that you have in one Google Classroom to another Google Classroom.

When I have a better understanding of something, such as Google Classroom (which I love!), then my students have a better understanding, too. Google Classroom really helps students to know expectations as a class as everything is accessible in one place. I felt like I really became well-versed in GC during COVID out of sheer necessity. I posted assignments and quizzes regularly to keep students engaged in what we were learning or reading in class. It also helped to see if I needed to reinforce a topic or dive deeper into a topic if students were confused. Overall, it is a great way to stay organized and distribute assignments/resources to students efficiently. I also find that teaching Professional Development courses via Google Classroom has allowed me to become more comfortable over the years, especially in the Classwork tab.

I use GC on a daily basis.  The ease and flow are both things that allow me to get through my lessons with more effeciency and effectiveness.  I will continue to use GC, and hope to improve as a teacher.

I enjoyed google classroom level 2. It helped reinforce how I set up assignments and how I put settings to make the most difference in my students learning. I'd like to start doing more where I post a question and students can comment back/interact.

Easy Communication

I have used google classroom for 2 years for The Washington DC trip. This is an easy way to reach all of my students and make sure everyone in on the same page.
