Lindsey Kuhrt

My knowledge of Google Classroom assignments will help me support 6th grade students’ learning by making it easier to set up and organize assignments clearly. I can post reading passages, writing prompts, and grammar activities in one easy-to-find place, which helps students stay on track. I’ll also use the comment and private message features to give feedback and answer questions, helping students stay engaged and supported even when we're not face-to-face. In terms of classroom management, Google Classroom helps me keep everything organized including due dates, missing work, and student progress, so I can quickly identify who needs help and keep parents informed, too.

Google Classroom Assignments: Danielle Stelmaszyk

Having experience with Google Classroom has really helped me support students more effectively. I know how to set up assignments in a clear, organized way so students know exactly what’s expected of them. I also use the comment and feedback tools to stay connected with students, answer questions, and offer support when they need it. Overall, it helps me keep everything running smoothly and creates a more focused, supportive learning environment.

Google Classroom

I am very excited about the opportunity to be able to provide my students with an online learning option moving forward. I am able to either provide them with physical paper copies of the lessons or give them access to a copy of the slides that accompany the lessons. I think this will help students have some choice in their learning style preferences, as well as give them the ability to be up and moving around at the board. We can work at their own pace, each student can have their own copy of the slides, and they can let me know which learning method they prefer and works best for them.

GC Organization is SO Important!

The organization of our google classroom is super important to support the independence of our learners who are using Google Classroom on a daily basis as we rotate through all of our learning centers throughout our day.  I love the organization tips of using emojis to help give students visual queues!

Google Classroom 2

The students have another avenue of seeing coursework that is directly posted by the teacher.  They are able to see the requirements for the course and also see completed notes and homework.  Students who are absent will still be able to participate in classroom assignments and keep up on their work.  Students can submit their work online and will be able to view their work once graded.

Mastering Google Classroom

Utilizing topics and types of assignments helps support student learning in a digital space. If gradebook easily communicated with Powerschool I would utilize the grading feature more. I do like to post all class work in Google Classroom as a landing space, and I recently learned the new Castle Learning site will post to Google Classroom too!

Sarah Flascher Google Classroom Level 2

My knowledge of Google Classroom assignments will improve my ability to support student's learning because I will be able to post links, videos, questions, and grading feedback in an easily accessible workspace for my students.  This is important because I work with all fifth graders across the grade level so having a space where feedback and assignments don't get buried or lost can aid in successful and organized learning.  It also provides a space for my students to ask questions and interact with their classmates should that be necessary to the learning goals.

Google Classroom

By using Google Classroom, I can meet the needs of all of my students. Through the various options for assignments (Material, Question, Quiz, etc.) I am able to diversify the content I provide. This will also make it easier for me to monitor student progress and encourage communication between students. I especially like how with the "material" option, I can upload PDFs of books we are reading in class to ensure students always have access. The organization of Google Classroom is also amazing, as students can't lose their work!

Organization

My knowledge of Google Classroom has improved because I know how difficult it must be to keep up with this level of online learning from the student side.  I was once a student in a class with a teacher running a PD and it was so well organized and it changed my whole thought on the course.  I strive to make it an easy location for students to navigate.

What I'll Use

I will use some of the organizational things I learned in this class to help my classroom be more accessible to students. I already added emojis to my topics to make them more recognizable for students.

Google Classroom

In this course I learned how to add emojis to my Google Classroom. I added them to the topics in my current Google Classroom as I think it will make it easier for students to navigate the page. I plan on incorporating them in the future for assignments as well to give students a visual to look for. Seeing the students side of Google Classroom was interesting. Knowing that students are able to see all of their missing work in one spot is helpful. I also plan on using that tool on the teacher side. I often assign pixel art and other assignments during block time on Google Classroom. Being able to go to one spot to see who hasn't finished the assignment is a time saver. I haven't used the gradebook feature on Google Classroom yet, but I plan to going forward. I like how you can go back and review students work from the gradebook as well. This would come in handy for report cards or tracking data of a specific skill. I wish I knew that I could review students work all from one tab. It would have saved me so much time and clicking. Google Classroom has so many great features. This badge helped me realize that there are built in components that can make what I am already doing that much easier for myself and my students.

Google Classroom houses multiple materials in one place

There are many possibilities with the Google Classroom platform. Using Google Classroom for block time activities and clubs promotes independence and allows students to integrate their use of other technological platforms such as Padlet, Docs, or Slides, when completing assignments within Google Classroom. Classroom can be organized through topics, materials, and assignments, and houses materials in one place, making it an effective way for students to access multiple items.
