Google Classroom - Assignments

Understanding how to effectively use Google Classroom assignments will significantly improve my ability to support student learning in several ways. When it comes to assignment setup, I can create clear, organized tasks with specific instructions, due dates, and attached resources, which helps students better understand expectations and stay on track. I can also differentiate assignments by assigning work to specific students or groups, allowing me to better meet individual learning needs.

Google classroom allows for a very organized setup for the students and the teacher. The ability to have topics and assignments placed into those topics makes it very easy to manage. Google classroom seems to have the ability to do a little bit of everything, in terms of communication with the class and the ability to organize the assignments however you need to. Google classroom is a great too for so many uses.

Google Classroom truly feels like a one-stop shop—everything students need for a class can be housed in one convenient place. It keeps assignments organized and easily accessible, whether they are arranged by week, topic, or subject. The ability to color-code assignments and topics is especially helpful for organization and clarity. I know that color coding makes a big difference for me, and it benefits students as well. Overall, Google Classroom is an excellent tool that supports both teaching and learning by keeping everything structured and easy to navigate.

Google Classroom Level 2 Reflection

Utilizing and having knowledge of Google Classroom will improve my ability to support my student's learning through the design of formative assignments and assessments and the ability to provide feedback and grades in a timely manner. Google classroom allows a teacher to to assign graded assignments, materials, quizzes, and questions. Posting materials are a great way to provide additional resources that may help students reach the learning goal/objective while assigning classwork/quizzes are an efficient way to quickly gather data about how students are practicing their skills. Additionally, utilizing the 'question' function is an effective tool in which students can reflect about their progress/knowledge of a topic or skill.

I enjoy the classwork section of google classroom. The topic feature allows for more organization and clarity for all students. It assists with parents as well if they are working on an assignment at home.

Google Classroom - Level 2

How will your knowledge of Google Classroom assignments improve your ability to support students' learning, particularly in terms of assignment setup, online interaction, and overall classroom management?

The Google Classroom will help support my students' learning because it is a place for them to showcase what they know with quick feedback, or to access resources of content we learn in class. In my intervention class, due to the nature of it being a small, intense group instruction time, we don't use Chromebooks often.  I envision using Google classroom in a few ways...
1) To give students quick accountibilty assignments at home based on their needs and the content we covered in class.
2) As a tool I can use to track their learning or do a quick activity while I am progress monitoring students once a week on their learning goals.
3) As another tool for students to express their success and struggles to me in written format- a place for dialogue
( I also use SeeSaw as a method of communication).

I like using Google Classroom topics to organize assignments. I create topics for each day of the week, and I appreciate using color-coded icons to help students easily recognize what they should work on. It streamlines assignments and creates independence when using daily topics. It also allows me access to their progress.

Google Classroom- Erin Gawlak

Google Classroom will be a great tool to help support students and their diverse needs. I can use it to post completed notes either for the whole class, or just for students with the accommodation of class notes. I can also post Kami assignments for students who may need access to digital copies of assignments for various reasons. Google classroom will also be beneficial for students because they have the ability to message me for questions about specifics assignments, and they can look there to see what their HW is or what due dates are approaching.

Google Classroom

Google Classroom is a fantastic tool for keeping learning organized and engaging. I can color-coordinate assignments by days of the week, which makes it easier for students to see what is due and stay on track. Each student has their own copy of an assignment to open, complete, and interact with using tools like Kami, which allows for annotation and active participation. Students can turn in their work digitally, and I can provide points and feedback directly within the platform. This process helps students take ownership of their learning while giving me the ability to monitor progress and provide timely support.

This is a great way to improve accountability with my students' home exercise programs.

Over the years, there have certainly been times when keeping students accountable with their home exercise programs was more difficult. They might lose their exercise papers, or lose their paper tracking sheets, leave them at home or forget to fill them out.  Being able to send out the assignment or to have to exercises digitally provided and having the student being able to check daily if they are completing what they need to, is a great way to help make sure that they are keep up on their exercises and to help keep track of how often they are actually getting their work done.

I also like, that I could send out more of the likes/ dislikes questions or what would you like to work on, sort of questions that would be a bit more private. Often times my students work in groups, and I would never want a student to feel uncomfortable talking about things that are difficult for them in front of peers. Also, a lot of times there is not a lot of time to have those conversations during therapy sessions. So this would be a really great resource for that as well.

Google Classroom will be immensely helpful in the management and organization of online assignments and resources for my students and myself.  It is so helpful to have everything in one spot, even when resources and assignments are coming from different platforms.  It helps students to know exactly where to find things.  It also makes going back to old resources easy if students need to revisit or review a topic we have previously studied.  Additionally, it can increase connections to home so that students can easily show their parents/guardians things they have been working on in school.
