Takeaways

My biggest takeaways was that three were specific ESL TEKS for these ESL students that did not work effectively. That ELPS is more effective now in every subject that are integrated into instruction. There are language strategies used to help students with all languages. There are four proficiency levels and can be on all different levels.

Proficiency level

It is important to understand the proficiency levels of each ELL, they may be different in each level of their proficiency.

Expanding and putting more emphasis on vocabulary will benefit all students.

While evaluating and expanding students vocabulary for ELL's is valuable. It would also be beneficial to place more emphasis on vocabulary with all students.

Biggest take away

The biggest take away I got from the video was to give students multiple opportunity for learning. Also providing content words and pictures to help form the connections.

ELPS

ELs need lots of opportunities to use language in every subject and that it is normal to have different proficiencies in different subjects.

Performance-based activities

One big takeaway from this video was the reinforcing idea that a way to track student progression, and possibly identify areas of further need, is through performance-based activities incorporated into lessons.

Something I learned and biggest takeway.

Something that I learned and was my biggest takeaway is that ELs need frequent opportunities to use language to absorb content knowledge in every subject. When students practice academic content through language, all students benefit.

District responsibility

My biggest take away was the district responsibilities. I didn't know they specified when the district interventions started.

Proficiency Level Descriptors (4) and four language domains earn the label of 4x4.

Listening, Speaking, Writing and Reading may have different levels of proficiencies for a student because of the beginning, intermediate, advantaged and adv. high ratings.

ELPS-Biggest Takeaway

The "Suggested Teacher Behaviors" like speaking in a clear concise manner can greatly impact the content retention in EL's.
