Designer-Educators design authentic, learner-driven activities and environments that recognize and accommodate learner variability.

Facilitator-Educators facilitate learning with technology to support student achievement of the ISTE Standards for Students. Educators:

I feel like this PD touched on most of the ISTE Standards for Educators; it allows for teachers to learn new features, that they may not know otherwise, and be able to utilize them to assist students. The new learning, of both teachers and students, can help everyone create a more inclusive and collaborative teaching, and learning, environment.

By participating in this webinar, educators are working towards becoming not only a better ally for students, but also a better teacher. There was a long list of resources that is accessible for anyone to read in order to better understand on how to be an ally. I liked that they also had a discussion open throughout the webinar that was open for questions to be asked as well as answers to questions asked to the attendees. It was more of a conversation with everyone involved rather than here are facts and why they are important. They also set a goal for everyone themselves to self-reflect on their current practices, what they can do better, and become an ally for social justice. In addition, they also discussed as a strategy to not be the gatekeeper of all knowledge, but rather have a collaborative classroom where the students also hold power and are able to create an environment in which they want to learn.

I would be using technology to support students achievement in seeing, by their writing on the first few days, where they might be and how  I could help them. Students would be learning how to take control of their learning by them having to keep up with the assignment that I put on Google forms for them or in Google classroom.

Learner- I believe that just by watching this webinar I was learning and being informed about future technology. I think  I will be able to continue to learn and grow through these workshops.
Designer- Making my own creative quizzes will help me be a designer for my class. Making the google form surrounding my specific subject.

I learned how to build a test and/or survey. I can use this to test students and at the beginning of the year I can use it as a way to learn about my students interests in and out of school.

Using Google Forms in the classroom is a technological way to test students and provide immediate (full and partial) feedback. It also another option for accommodation for students.

Designer Learner

Designers: “Educators design authentic, learner-driven activities and environments that recognize and accommodate learner variability”
- We discussed how literacy should be used to tie in other subject areas such as English, reading, math, history, etc... rather than solely focus on reading. The tasks we create for our students should be hands-on and engaging above all else; otherwise, they won’t be paying attention or learning

Learners: “Educators continually improve their practice by learning from and with others and exploring proven and promising practices that leverage technology to improve student learning.”
- the teachers that come to this are obviously there to learn and become better educators. I learned of quite a few useful resources that I’ll be able to use in my future classroom!
