Reflection

I thought this was a cool activity to do, and it is something I might have my students do in the future. It creates a fun way to talk about the subject of plagiarism. I chose to use an old lady as the teacher in my graphic because fifth graders find this stuff hilarious. They like to think that their teachers are old school and don't stay hip. I also thought about using crumpled up paper because that shows the students how important it is not to plagarize. I would use this graphic in a classroom after I have already set the tone for the class because it seems kind of harsh. Lastly, I thought it was a good idea to show the watermarks on the pictures because it shows it is not my own. I put on the bottom all the photos are from Canva. This shows my students an example of how to use other's work without plagiarizing.

To teach my students how to not plagiarize.

With this presentation, my students will be able to go through and learn what a copyright and what plagiarism is and how they can go about avoiding it.

MeMatic Usage

This app is good for decorating classroom websites. Since students love meme's this is a great way to spice up the looks of a website. It is also a great tool for creating reminders in a fun way. Instead of emails, I can send memes that are informative and fun.

I have only used Prezi once way back in high school. I did not like it then, but enjoyed using it now. I think it makes a presentation flow very nicely and it is very organized. The only downside I found about Prezi is inserting pictures. I had a hard time making them look flawless in the presentation and they came in very small. I also used Explain Everything, which I had never used before. I really enjoyed this program. It was easy to use, and organized my thoughts neatly and uniquely.

This can be used in my future classroom in multiple different ways. I can make handouts to send home to parents that are creative and visual. I liked the topic of plagiarism because there are multiple ways that a visual can be made for this specific topic. Students can also use this tool to create things that are important to what we are learning for the day. I can have each student quickly make a poster about plagiarism so that I can post them all around the room to remind them of the importance of no cheating. I can also use this tool to make posters to put around the school for every student to see.

Relevance

I think this badge is relevant to my future classroom because students need to know that plagiarism is wrong and they cannot do it. I think people often think it is okay to use someone else's pictures or words if they can find them on the internet. However, this is not okay to do and my students will be taught this. I want my students to be doing their own work, and turning their own work in to me. I want them to understand that I do not want to see what others have done, I want to see what they can come up with or see what they have learned. I honestly plan to use this graphic that I made in my future classroom because I think its pretty good. It sends the message that if you are plagiarising, you should be scared and they should stop doing it. I think my graphic would look great on a classroom wall and it would be a great reminded for my students and others.
