How is this relevant to your future classroom? How could you use this now as a student and in the future as a teacher? You can talk about your ISTE standard of choice here as well. This reflection should be specific, but it can be short.

I can use Twitter in my future classroom to keep students up to date on assignments, or as a part of warmups or a project. I can use it now and as a teacher to build a PLN and learn more about what I can do to be a better educator. I picked the Learner standard because I think a teacher should always be learning, in order to keep up with the latest information on their subject and so that your class can be as enriching as possible for your students in the future.

In my future classroom, I can use ISTE standards as well as Twitter to learn new things about education. Twitter allows me to connect with educators all around the world, which will allow me to come up with new ways to teach material to my students. ISTE standards will allow me to ensure that I am teaching my students technological skills in an effective manner, as there is an improper way to utilize technology. Using these things in conjunction will make my classroom relevant and fun for both my students and me.

I will be able to use twitter within the classroom for students to hold conversations between each other. I will also get use out of this for the twitter chats that I can get involved in about education stuff. This ties to the ISTE standard that I talked about, which is 2. Learner. I will be learning about anything and everything when using Twitter for various reasons.

I already use this standard in my own schooling to take notes more efficiently on my iPad. I don’t use tech when it overcomplicates, but only when it adds to my learning and makes things more convenient. This is how I want to use tech in my classroom. Will it exhibit more learning? Create a space for critical thinking? Will it cause more frustration than its worth, or will the students benefit greatly after going through the learning curve? These are all things I will ask when considering tech in a lesson plan. I really hope the school I teach at uses iPads, as I can think of a magnitude of uses for them in the classroom.

Twitter is relevant to my future classroom because it is a way to communicate with students and to connect with other teachers for learning opportunities.
