Reflection

Twitter can be used to offer students a fun way to collaborate on a project and find more information others have shared about that specific topic. Twitter can be used as a teacher to connect and network with other educators around the world. These opportunities coincide with the Collaborator Standard.

Twitter is relevant to my future classroom because it will allow me to learn from and collaborate with other educators who can help me become a better teacher. Twitter chats will give me ideas and tips that I can bring into my classroom. I think twitter will help my teaching be more creative.

Twitter chats can be used to meet new people and build your PLC. It can be used to stay up to date with current information and achievements (like book publications) can be shared on twitter. 

Just as a professional development tool, Twitter can be really useful. I plan to engage with twitter chats and educators throughout this class and into the future. I have already found several teachers and resources that I think I can connect with. In addition, I think Twitter will help with networking when I need a job, which is supremely helpful.

This is a great way for me to get connected to other teachers and to get new ideas for activities in my classroom. I can use this as a student to learn what doesn’t work in the classroom and I can use it as an educator when I feel uninspired and need new ideas for how to keep my classroom exciting and my students engaged. I think that the empowered learner is an important standard because students need to be able to effectively use technology for educational purposes. 

Using badges would be useful for creating portfolios.  It has specific areas to upload each part of the portfolio. This would help to make the steps required to complete a portfolio clear and rewards students for completing the portfolio without assigning a grade.  

Twitter can be a great tool to stay connected with students, colleagues, and parents. It is also a great way to network with other educators and work on professional development. 

The most important thing is getting students to think and problem solve for themselves. I am not there to tell them what to do or how to do it. I’m there to guide them. 

This is very relevant in my class. I would love to create a chat where my students can talk about their feelings on novels we are reading. However, I do not want my students using it during class because it could be distracting. I feel that through Twitter chats, I, myself, can learn about new ideas on how to teach a novel and my students would be able to build off of each other. 

This is relevant to my future classroom because students are so involved in Twitter that this is an easy way to keep up with them. I could use this as a student to look at teachers now, and as a teacher to interact with other colleagues. 

I look forward to using twitter in my classroom as a way to get relevant information out to my students. This will also help me to get information from other teachers and stay up to date. As a learner, I will always be getting information about what other teachers are doing to improve their classroom. 

       This is relevant for my future classroom because Twitter is a great tool to stay connected with my students as well as other educators and current events. Networking as a teacher is very important, and having outside perspectives and resources is vital to being a successful teacher. As a facilitator, is is important to be able to integrate technology in my classroom when possible, because it is the future.
