Part 1 - What is ChatGPT?

1. ChatGPT is an online AI tool that gives answers to all their questions with text, video, and images.

2. Concerns: how do we police it?  Look Forward to: using it with the science curriculum to get teaching ideas and activities.

1.    Explain what ChatGPT is and what it can do?It’s a free AI chat bot that you can talk to and ask any question. It can also create original content. It is pre-trained. ChatGPT communicates with you to create content of your choosing. It can answer questions, create essays, write plans or directions, basically anything you ask it. ChatGPT uses some predictive algorithms to create its responses. Sometimes it has difficulty giving responses as it may not know the answer, have the incorrect information or not be able to answer more existential questions.

2.    What concerns do you have for educators?  What do you look forward to?Originally, I thought that it would take away the importance of writing and spelling and essay format, but I now believe it will enhance student’s writing and learning. I think you need to teach students when and how to use it so it is not misused. I also worry that the content may not always be correct or appropriate, as the bot is learning from the information we are putting in.  I’ve used it to help create texts to use with students and write parts of lessons I’ve needed extra inspiration for or was at a loss at how I would connect two topics.

ChatGPT is a free service that can answer questions, and/or create original answers using artificial intelligence. Artificial intelligence can write love songs, essays, create images or answer questions like 'are unicorns real?'

There are concerns for ChatGPT and artificial intelligence.  Sometimes there are no responses to more philosophical questions. Some information given by ChatGPT may be incorrect. I would be concerned that students would turn to artificial intelligence to complete their school work for them, rather than trying themselves.  Communicating, in both writing and the visual arts, is key to our humanity and l would not want future generations to lose that skill.  I think the idea of using it to further your own understanding, or to inspire your own work could be beneficial to students.  Personally I am not much of an artist so I find the idea of creating art with AI to be very intriguing.

Chat GPT is a large Language Learning Model developed by the company Open AI.  It has grown by leaps and bounds over the past year plus and really has become a leader in the AI industry.  Chat GPT can create responses in a chat/messaging format to user created prompts.  These responses are generated from a massive data set that was fed into the LLM.  While these responses seem very human-like, they are created using predictive algorithms that are not too dissimilar to what an iPad uses to generate predictive text responses above the keyboard while typing or what gMail creates while crafting an email.  These responses can be wrong and they can also create what are  known as hallucinations or made up responses.  This forces users to be very discerning when using anything that was created by this chat bot.  

My largest concern about this tool's use is the ethical use of it.  As it grows (they just released Sora, a text prompting tool that creates hyper-realistic fake videos off of user prompt) we have to really think about the whens, whys, and hows that this gets used.  It will require people to be more informed about not only AI tools and their uses but also just overall informed as citizens so you can be better equipped to know when you are not seeing truthful or accurate info.  This is scary when you consider the context of American society in its current state. Many will believe anything if it comes from someone they follow or respect.  

Chat GPT is a free AI Chatbot, where AI can engage in real life conversations, can write detailed responses to questions, create images, etc... The Chatbot can lead to misuses however. It can solve homework questions, it can generate and write essay responses for students in school, etc.

ChatGPT can perform a variety of language-related tasks, including answering questions, generating creative content, providing assistance with language-related queries, and engaging in conversation on a wide range of topics.
For educators, there are both opportunities and concerns related to the use of ChatGPT. On the positive side, ChatGPT can be a valuable tool for facilitating learning, assisting with language-related exercises, and providing additional resources for students. It can also support educators in creating engaging content and answering queries. However, there are concerns about the potential misuse of such technology, including the generation of inappropriate or biased content, as well as the risk of over-reliance on automated tools at the expense of critical thinking and human interaction.
As for what I look forward to, I aim to continue evolving and improving in terms of understanding context, generating more accurate and helpful responses, and assisting users in various tasks. I also look forward to being a useful resource for individuals across different domains and contributing positively to the user experience.

ChatGPT is a free AI chat bot that can not only answer questions like a search engine, but it can provide intelligent responses to various prompts. It can write essays, give suggestions, and answer more personal questions. It can provide solutions, complete homework assignments, and answer questions using information that has existed on the internet. I have some concerns that students will rely too heavily on easily-accessible information and lose out on opportunities to develop critical thinking skills and work ethic. I worry that students will become "lazy" (for lack of a better word) and fail to fact-check information. I look forward to learning how to use AI as a tool to get ideas for lessons, organize information, and maybe even differentiate information for students with varying abilities.

ChatGPT is like magic google searching similar to Alexa, only it types the information versus speaking the information. All the responses are unique in their own way. You can ask the Chat Bot multiple times the same question, and the response will be different every time. This new tech tool is a way to help learning, not do the learning. Teachers can use this in so many ways.

ChatGBT is a chatbot that has synthesized the internet as of 2021 created by OpenAI. It is a powerful tool that is open to the public which answers questions in writing. Often the information is accurate, although it does hallucinate information at times. 

1. What concerns do you have for educators?  What do you look forward to?

The main concern is that ChatGBT plagiarism is difficult to detect. This should be a tool used to help generate ideas, help to edit and proofread, and overall help our teaching and learning be more effective. I look forward to seeing how ChatGBT is being used by teachers on specific assignments and how we can encourage students to use it well. This could revolutionize education again, I am eager to learn and use it more. 

Chat GPT is a very sophisticated program that allows users to search any topic and generate ideas, lessons, questions, etc.  The feedback comes back instantly and is very useful.  It saves so much time and can easily be modified as you ask chatgpt more questions to refine your topic.
I have used this for lesson ideas, questions to review topics with students, etc.  It is a huge time saver.

Educators and professionals have a fear that students are not writing any more with the tool writing for them. Also, because Chat GPT creates original content, plagerism checks are not available to search. I worry that original, creative thought will be lacking in future students and writers, because turning to this tool is so accessible. 

I am concerned that the accuracy of Chat GPT is in question. I look forward to the potential increase in knowledge and reading that goes with the use of this tool.
