Self-Care Ideas

I can commit to the following self- care practices weekly:

Physical- Working out (it's a great way to relieve stress, stay in good health, and have "me" time)

Emotional- Spending time with loved ones. (Life gets busy so it's important to make extended family a priority; whether it's in person or by phone it's so important to stay connected.)

Spiritual- spending time outside and being thankful & grateful of all of the beauty around.

Practices to Try

2 - 3 practices that I would like to do each week:

1. getting out for a walk
2. getting enough sleep
3. drinking plenty of water

These are all things that I can easily fit into my schedule without a ton of extra effort - though they will have a big impact!

2-3 Practices I would do each week:

1.  Physical-  I want to continue to workout each day.  I like to wake up in the morning and workout.  I feel it sets me off on the right foot for the day.  By working out I wake myself up and I begin to feel better about myself, and that translates to my everyday activities.

2.  Emotional- take time out of the day to spend with my sons, I enjoy spending time with them and it puts me into a better mood.

3.  Spiritual- sitting quietly, I donĀ“t do this enough at all, I feel like I am always on the go.  By sitting quietly I would have time to recharge and take some personal time to grow as a person and relax.

2-3 Practices each week

The 2-3 practices that I can committee to each week would be:

1.  Emotional- each day of the week I already do this but I would like to make sure I continue to workout/exercise each day in the morning.  Waking up and starting my day off exercising will help me start my day off positively.  I want to spend my day with my 3 sons and husband, go on walks, or take them to their sports and watch them.  I believe family is very important and by spending time together I will live a happier life.

2.  Spiritual-  during the summer I would like to go on a walk each morning by myself and have some quiet time for myself.  I would also like to sit in the sun in my backyard by our swimming pool and listen to what nature provides me in the sounds of the outside.

self care

Self care is something that is important something that has been lacking in my life. I am going to commit to the following for this week and next: 1. read a book from the library just for fun 2. spend time thinking of the positives instead of everything else - focus on what I am grateful 3. I am going to take my full lunch period just for me and not read emails, return phone calls, etc.

Self Care

It is important to make time for self care but can be difficult to create the time and commit to it. The following self care practices seem manageable for me to commit to. 1. Going for a walk 3 times a week during lunch break 2. Reading for fun 3. Thinking about what I am grateful for each morning.
