Part 3: Quizlet Live!

Quizlet Live is a great tool that can be used in the classroom, or assigned to do independently at home.  It adds a fun and slightly competitive way to challenge students to learn content vocabulary.  It also provides good practice and Regents prep.  It is really nice to see other apps and programs adding these fun ways to learn because sometimes the kids get sick of doing the exact same ones, like Kahoot. I was not aware of this feature and plan to use it next year!

Quizlet Live is a valuable tool for interactive learning. It fosters teamwork, engagement, and friendly competition among students. By reinforcing knowledge, providing real-time feedback, and offering customization options, Quizlet Live enhances learning outcomes in a fun and accessible manner.

I think the impact of Quizlet live is similar to that of Kahoot or Blooket. The students love getting to interact with a game that also tests their understanding of new learning or new vocabulary. For my ELLs, having the ability to interact with Quizlet live where it's specifically testing their understanding of new vocabulary related to a unit is highly beneficial. It also gives me the ability as their teacher, to see if they have a full understanding of the vocabulary. I also love that Quizlet live allows students to work as a team. 

Quizlet offers a way to present and review vocabulary in a new and innovative way. Features like LIVE allow for high energy and engagement in the classroom. Students often want to play over and over and get competitive in a positive way. I like the teams feature too to help build classroom relationships. 

Quizlet is engaging for students.  My students love puzzles and matching and therefore practicing vocabulary in a matching way would be fun for them.  They could also try this numerous times in order to beat their previous time.  I also love the Gravity game.  Students feel like they are playing.a video game.  This will be beneficial to practice our quick math facts in the classroom.  It reminds me of Time to Climb in Nearpod.

For our class, playing Quizlet Live will definitely  have an impact on how students interact with our content. The high energy surrounding the review game is contagious! I have found that even a small amount of cards can yield a unique game every time it's played and of high value since the repetition can be boring in a traditional setting. 

After using Quizlet Live a number of times now, I find a lot of value in its multiple modes of use and level of student engagement.  When playing "live" in the class, I find my students get super involved and competitive with each other.  All get to play and take part without having to speak in front of the class or things that might be uncomfortable for some. I love the vibe of the class when playing because students really seem to get into it and have fun in Social Studies when using this tool.  Currently, as another badge member mentioned, this is also a great tool in the covid world.  It allows for interactive play and collaboration while remaining socially distanced. 
In addition, I love being able to share the quizlet link with my students individually as well.  I always share a link a few days before a test as an additional study tool.  Students can quiz themselves at their leisure or practice vocabulary with the flash card mode to help prepare for assessments.  Students have told me this is their most beneficial and most used resource for test prep. I will most definitely use this for review for all units in the forseeable future.

I tried the "Gravity" on my own and loved that you really have to differentiate the terms you are learning. 

With "LIVE" It is a great way to have students communicate, and that has been a challenge in a COVID world. Having them play in class at 3 feet apart in corner zones of the rooms is a great way to do review of terms especially when every player does not have the correct response...talk about total participation!!! Which, as a teacher, is always an issue!! This will be a regular tool in my teaching tool box for sure!
