In small groups, the Quizlet LIVE could be fun way to try and build automaticity in my students when it comes to early numerals. I think some of my students may not enjoy the competitive aspect of the games, however I do believe that the excitement from the games could benefit a majority of my students.

Part 3

I think Quizlet Live is an excellent tool for promoting collaboration and active learning in the classroom because it is fast-paced team-based game that keeps students engaged while reinforcing key concepts. I actually used to play Quizlet Live when I was in high school and it was one of my favorite activities in Spanish class. The value lies in how students have to communicate, reason through answers, and rely on each other to succeed. It also creates a positive, energetic atmosphere where students are motivated to participate and take ownership of their learning. In my health classroom, I can see this being especially effective for reviewing vocabulary, body systems, or wellness concepts before an assessment (I might try it in my class today, actually). Overall, it’s a fun, low-stress way to review material while building teamwork and confidence.

Part 3: Quizlet Live!

I regularly use Quizlet in my classroom as I pre-teach vocabulary before going into new content. The benefits that I have seen firsthand using Quizlet Live in my classroom has been the following: increased student engagement, active participation, reinforced learning and better retention of terms, teamwork. What I saw immediately is that it transformed a task that students normally found to be less engaging a fun and competitive activity. I was able to get all students actively involved in the lesson as they were contributing, no longer were there some students who would passively learn. Because of the timing we had repeated exposure to the new terms and definitions during the game and students received immediate feedback on their answers so they were able to immediately correct any mistakes.

As a teacher I liked being able to quickly check for student understanding on the various terms introduce. I could identify the most missed terms at the end of the round to identify what learning gaps existed and I used this information to plan a quick review for the following class period. The ability to track student performance also allowed me the flexibility to check in individually with students who may have appeared to be struggling with material or passively participating.

I would like to try the team option to see if it could help my students improve their communication skills this is an important 21st Century skill that would be important in the real world.

Part 3- Quizlet Live...

1. This was actually the first time that I used Quizlet Live. I've used Quizlet for vocabulary, flashcards, etc. for individual reviewing purposes; however, this was the first time that I did it live in all of my US History classes...

I really enjoyed the live action of it. It forced students to work together with other students in the classroom that they normally don't or wouldn't work with. I like how they had to communicate with each other (their team) if they wanted to be successful throughout the live action game play. The students were definitely getting more and more competitive with one another, on their own teams, and the other opposing teams that they were competing with/against. During the game play (we probably played somewhere between 5-7 games in each class period), I took note of the students becoming more and more familiar with the vocabulary words throughout the matching activity. It was also nice to see the collective effort of each group/team trying to win that particular round; the excitement or even the disappointment/frustration...

I definitely see myself utilizing this feature more often; this year and next moving forward with review games before our upcoming unit tests. I also like to add the incentive to each team, that the winning team (first to three or five games) wins extra credit points for their upcoming unit test. This always seems to carry a little extra motivation! =)

Part 3

I never knew that Quizlet live was a thing! After playing around with it for a little bit, It kind of reminds me of Kahoot! I think that this will be a valuable tool that students can use to have fun while working on their speech and language skills! I think that this would be a good way to review what we learned at the end of different speech sessions, as I can use a quizlet that has the same targets as what we talked about! I think this will be a fun way to reinforce proper speech and language use!

Part 3: Evidence of Learning

Quizlet LIVE will give kids the chance to compete against each other with real time feedback. I believe most kids have that competitive drive and desire to outsmart their friends/classmates. With Quizlet LIVE, students can work together in teams (or individually) to quickly find correct answers. I like the idea of 2-3 students per team, scattered around the room, actively engaged in the lesson. In my math classroom, it doesn’t have to be vocab and definitions, but it could be simplifying expressions, factoring, solving… so many great ideas!

Evidence Part 3

Quizlet Live is a great feature of Quizlet that I did not know about! I like that you can use it live or assign. I will be using the Quizlet Live feature as a student study tool for elementary music. I envision myself finding or creating a set and assigning a quizlet live link on seesaw for review. Students have not experienced this before, and I think it will supercharge student learning.

Center station

I enjoyed the quizlet live game. I think it would be beneficial in the classroom once the students are comfortable using the ipads and have been exposed to the heart words. I would have them use quizlet live during a center station. I would have them play the quizlet matching game. The quizlet astroid game was not successful for most of the students. It was too difficult for them due to the speed of the game. I would also post this on seesaw as a review for the students while they are home practicing their heart words. The parents could also be involved with this and learn which words their child is working on.

Part 3

Quizlet Live is a fun, interactive way to engage all students in learning. It encourages teamwork and slight competition.  I like that the link can be embedded into Schoology.  I also like that students can go in on their own and use it independently at home as a study tool.  I will definitely be making more Quizlets for my students to utilize!

I think this was a great way of helping with student engagement. Students were more willing to interact along with being supportive to others.I also think that it helped with having more discussions with other peers regarding this topic. I think this will continue to be helpful in my group sessions. It will bring unity within peers along with help with discussion topics.

Part 3: Quizlet Live!

Quizlet Live is a valuable tool for having students play in your classroom to boost engagement, excitement, and practice of lesson content. It can be used as a whole class activity, in small groups, or independent practice. It has a low floor for student entry points making it accessible to students of all abilities. I appreciate how it can be customized to challenge children at all different levels. It reinforces learning outcomes while simultaneously entertaining students. It is an amazing site to find resources to enrich and support the lessons taught in my class.
