I am going to introduce the organizer at a training with our IU teachers on our Annotated IEP. Excited to introduce it to them without making them use it this year since we won't implement for a few years.

The Unit Organizer Routine is a strategy designed to help students understand what they will be learning and what the schedule will be.

I can see how the Unit Organizer would be a helpful routine for both teachers and students. For the teachers, the Unit Organizer would help them to more thoroughly plan for a unit of study and help the teachers to more clearly identify the key ideas they want to ensure the students learn. For the students, the Unit Organizer will help them to understand what they will be learning and how what they are learning connects to other information they have and will learn. The Unit Organizer will also help students to study as they will know ahead of time what the key ideas are and what questions they should be able to answer about the material by the end of the unit.

SIM- Unit Organizer Date: April 26, 2018 I reviewed the unit organizer lesson using the book. How to cue the routine, the CRAFT techniques, and reviewing the organizer. We created a mock lesson that I did the role play with as my partner used the Unit Organizer Device Checklist. 4/24 & 4/25 - Reflection

The unit organizer is a great way to help students keep their thoughts organized and begin writing or talking about big ideas. Watching the video the second day of the training was what tied everything together. I really hope that the trainers upload the video to the teams folder.
