Five Tips

1. Be honest about your project and let potential donors know how passionate you are about your students attaining the education that they deserve.
2. Be detailed in your writing and be as specific as possible about your students and their situation.
3. Don't be vague. This goes with the second tip, but vagueness in what you are trying to get across may come off as disingenuous or suspicious to some.
4. Be creative. Don't use DonorsChoose to ask for materials so that your students learn better. This is your chance to challenge yourself and to think outside of the box. Let your wildest idea run free and give it an opportunity to become a reality.
5. Thank your donors. These people spent time and money to ensure your students get the education every child deserves, so make sure to thank them for their sacrifice. Nobody has to give you anything, so thank people when they do.

5 tips

1. Teachers should show why their project would benefit the students, both academically and personally.

2. Teachers should do their research, make sure they have the appropriate evidence and are properly informing their readers

3. Make sure to get the word out using emails, Facebook, social media, etc

4. Don’t start too big! Ask for something small, but something you know will benefit your students anyway.

5. Say thank you to all who have donated!

Tips

1: Indicate the reason for the project, for example why it is important and what they will learn.
2: Indicate the excitement the students have for it, for example if they have been asking to do something for a while.
3: Share personal ideas about the project and what its importance is in the classroom.
4: Be personal, I found the more personal a teacher was the more I wanted to support.
5: Be honest, always tell the truth about the project and what it means to the teacher.
