As a review before our phonics pattern reading and writing assessment (similar to a spelling test), I worked with students in small groups to practice identifying the correct spelling of words with our pattern, hearing pattern words and producing the spelling on their own, and writing a sentence when it is dictated to them. Students did all of this in the Nearpod presentation and I was able to easily and quickly review their responses later while helping them with the logistics of using the app right there in real time.
I liked that I was able to record myself reading the words and the dictation sentence and add those recording to the presentation, however that was a tedious process.
Next time I might shorten the presentation and not include all of the words or all of those components to make it more manageable for the kids to do in 15 minutes.
