Class kick reflection

Classkick is a easy way to quickly assess your students it works in live time and you can actually give students live feedback!

I LOVE Classkick!!! It is one of my favorite apps.

I love the fact that I can give kids from across the room IMMEDIATE feedback even if I am working with a specific group of kids in small group.
* The dotted green box allows you to have short answers graded by ClassKick. Kids have to use the selector tool to click inside the box and pull up the keyboard.  That is the only way for CK to grade those answers.

Reflection....

Over all I really enjoy using classkick in my classroom.  I have the above level readers for guided reading and they are able to use this fully to complete their work assignments weekly.  I also like to use this for math as an exit ticket type thing. It allows me to watch as students complete their work and form small group instruction based on what I see.

It is okay.

The part I loved about ClassKick was that I could see as students were working on assignments.  I was able to know who was sitting and working and if someone was just sitting and looking like they were working.

What I didn't like about classkick is the plain-ness of my pages.  I don't know if I didn't see all the aspects of classkick or if it really is simple text/pictures on a slide.  I would love it to be a little more creatively stimulating.

I LOVE Classkick!

This tool has transformed my guided math time! I would tell new users to understand that you will not be perfect at it right away, and to give yourself some trial and error time. I would also let them know that having clear instructions on the slide will clear up a lot of confusion with students. Lastly, I would say that this goes farther than just my math time, there are so many times where I use this instead of printing something because the feedback to students is in realtime and I can see all of my students working at the same time! I don't have enough good things to say about Classkick, other than I hope everyone gives it a chance!

Classkick

I really liked classkick for reviews. The students loved it too. It worked well when students got in the habit of using the raise your hand button. I loved that I could put audio files in for my students with read aloud accommodations. Grading it was not user friendly and I did not take any classkick for a grade. It was a great informal, formative assessment in the classroom.

I liked this app! I especially liked some of  the features; for example: stickers for grading, and the raised hand for help. I would suggest spending time teaching students, has a whole class,  how to use the features.  I also liked that I could check students' progress as they worked. This helped me monitor how students were doing on an assignment and give feedback immediately.

We did have problems with the audio. Students couldn't record audio, but I could. I haven't figured out if that's only for teachers and not students. Grading is a bit of a challenge. It doesn't allow you to move easily to the next student. Despite those challenges this is an app  I will use early on next year.

Class Kick is a good way to try something new with students.

Class kick is easy to use, but often you have multiple clicks before placing an image or item on a slide for students. I feel successful using this app to start a new unit/chapter with pre-tests. I enjoy watching students work in live-time all together so I can help students and ensure all are working. Students like that they can request feedback. It's fun to use, but I would not use it everyday.

I love Classkick! It's super easy to join. I had kids up and running in just a couple minutes. I'm really glad we have the app now, because the web version was a little finicky on certain features. They had trouble zooming in and out and some of the features were hard to click on. Kids would sometimes get stuck and have to reset the app to get Now that they have the app, it's even easier to use.

Tips:
Explain all the tools to kids before you start so they know what they can use.
If you want them to use a specific tool on a slide, make that clear.
Emphasize that they don't need to turn it in and that it's live, my kids asked over and over how to turn it in.
Know your class and know if they can handle the peer helper feature. I tried it with a class and they liked it; but I'm not sure every class could handle it.
Leave your app open to monitor student progress and watch for hands raised within the app
You can leave notes on students assignments while they're working but it doesn't alert them if they aren't on that active page

Love the feedback ability!

I hope I get faster at creating classcick assignments. It would be so easy to have a bank of assignments for each math lesson. Then I could move kids through at a better pace and then give them some enrichment.

The first lessons I did, I set up so the kids would be requesting feedback on every slide. Big Mistake! Big! I totally didn't expect so many kids to request help so I wasn't able to check answers too. Several students wanted checked before they moved on to the next problem to make sure they were doing it right. Kids were totally on task and it was much easier for them to wait for me.

What I liked the best was that I could mix the feedback in classkick with walking up to students and helping them one-on-one. This kept kids from missing so many practice problems and ending up confused.

So a mix of delivering content and practice is my goal. I accomplished that better with the multiplying fractions lesson.

Love Classkick

I absolutely love taking our Wonders and My Math material and making it into a Classkick. I can give feedback and keep track with student work while working with a small group. For a new user, I would start small, before you know it you will be creating Classkicks in the middle of your lesson! :)

Love it!

Classkick is amazing. I can't believe I haven't been using it before. It is super simple to use and you can create some really engaging lessons! I love that I can give my kids feedback on their work in real time! Talk about immediate feedback!

One tip that I have for new users is that once you have all the kids signed in to the code and in your roster. You can lock your roster from preventing kids from making multiple accounts and adding those to your roster. You want to do this, TRUST ME!
