Math Reading Science Writing

Classkick is great for all subject areas. Students can do book snaps on Classkick and highlight their evidence, circle key words, make organizers, etc. In math, students can upload work they do on their iPad or solve on their own screens. They can type in their answer and it tells them if they are wrong without giving them the answer. Therefore, they can correct themself. In science, students can create tables to post time for different trials. They can also upload pictures of their group work. It can send them to links that they may need to help with their projects. In writing, students can peer edit each other's papers. I can also make corrections to their work as well.

ClassKick

ClassKick is my new favorite app!  There are so many uses for it!!
* problems for students to solve throughout whole group focus lesson (instant grading, easy to see if kids are getting it or not)
* interactive whiteboard for small group instruction - as kids are getting it, they can move on to other problems to try independently before going back to their seats
* differentiated ClassKicks to help kids master review skills

Use of Classkick

I can see myself using classkick in several aspects of my classroom. Classkick seems like a great tool for all students to have what we are working with in front of them. A long term goal would be to use it in my guided math centers, so I am excited to try it. I think it could also be used for reading passages, students can underline, write, and add text to the passage with the teacher being able to see the student's work right away.

Great in class assignment.

I often ask students to create an exercise routine for themselves or yoga flow etc.  I think this would be a great tool to use for this because I can monitor whether or not students are actually engaged in the assignment.

More beneficial for 1:1 classrooms,

I got excited when I was looking around the Classkick website for information and examples and came across a video for 1st grade. A lot of these assessment apps are more catered toward older kids and 1:1 classrooms, so seeing something catered to primary made me think this could be a great resource to give kids immediate feedback when practicing a math skill. However I saw that in the video every kid had their own device and the teacher was at her desk "collaborating" with the students across the room in real time. In that situation I think it would make more sense to simply have a small group of students at the teacher table in front of you. I suppose I could apply Classkick in a small group setting and allow students to be each other's teachers or assign a high-performing student to be the teacher and find the missteps in the other students' work.

I could also create assignments for students to complete at the iPads after teacher table for independent practice before they go on Skoolbo or TeachMe.

Other Uses

Use it to save trees and put documents in there.  One of my favorite things about Classkick is the quick feedback that you can provide for students. I could use it for quick formative checks in Math, ELA, Social Studies, and Science.
