ChatGPT is an artificial intelligence, chatbot, that provides human like answers to any questions you have. The company who created this is Open AI. Anyone can use this to help them enhance their thinking. Though many do have concerns about the power of it's ability.
As an elementary teacher I am not really concerned. I have been having conversations with my co-workers about how schools do need to change. We still have this very traditional way of teaching like in the little red school house days- kids sit at desks, we have blocks of time that we do certain things, etc. This new way of life with technology really should flip things so that kids can take more of their learning in their own hands. It would be neat to provide them with the standard, they use chat GPT to investigate and learn how to do that, and then foster the relationships and learning happening while using the 7 habits. A lot of kids in the classrooms are struggling with ADHD. They can't stay still unless they are really actively engaged in something. This again would allow kids to have more power over their education. It could change their mindset to instead of waiting to find the ways to solve the problem, then they could take the problem in their own hands and figure out how to solve it without waiting for "next steps". I'm always finding ways as a teacher to empower kids to take charge of their learning. This would help with that.
