  • AI has been creeping in to many different facets of our lives. We can ask Alexa for information or to do simple tasks like turn lights on and off and play specific music. So many of the apps we use also include AI functions, such as movie recommendations on Netflix and personalized wine suggestions on Vivino. For example, if I want to choose wine at a restaurant, I can scan the wine list with my phone's camera. This gives me an overall number for every wine on the list. I can also snap a photo of a bottle label one at a time. Not only will Vivino tell me the overall rating that many users have reported, but it uses my ratings to determine how I will like a particular wine. It "learns" from all the previous ratings I have posted and guides me based on wine type, region, flavors, etc. Then it lets me know the percentage of if a wine is a "good match" for me.
  • AI is beginning to make certain tasks more efficient, though it is not foolproof by any means. Much of the way I use it is in the "cool trick" category. I'm interested to learn more to use AI in creating content for teaching and home life.
