- Where is AI being used around the house and work?
Large language models generate text based on existing text and language widely available on the Internet. It's important to scrutinize the outputs though. So crafting a workout schedule, a meal plan or a vacation itinerary is good for a desired output, However, with serious tasks such as crafting legal document- people should probably proceed with caution.
- Describe an example of when you used/witnessed someone else use AI? (Alexa, Siri, etc)
I use AI in my workflow all the time. Generating discussion questions, project ideas, lesson objects. Sometimes I have an idea, I just need help fine tuning the wording of directions or rubric criteria.
- How, if at all, has this impacted your life?
AI is helping me understand my students better. I've often asked AI to generate student-like responses to have have exemplars for in class instruction. ChatGPT also generates possible student responses to discussion prompts and possible student struggles.
Some concerns I have are ethical use. I am concerned about how AI could encourage students to "short cut' instead of doing the work. I'm also
