- What are your thoughts and possible predictions on industry and/or life moving forward.
I think it is hard to fully predict the impact of AI on the future of industry and life. This is still pretty new, and people have not had a chance to really play with it. Teachers can use it, but students cannot. Many people in industry will start to use it now without much training, perhaps a bit ad - hoc.
- What role does education have on the use of AI?
As educators, I think we have a huge responsibility as these AI engines continue to roll out. It feels like ChatGPT has been around for awhile, with the seismic shockwave it has sent through our ecosystem, but it came out last year! We need to get our arms around this, and quickly. We need to help students know how to use AI, but also how to not abuse it. To use it to enhance their work, not to use to hide their lack of learning, but as a tool that aids their learning.
