This app is relevant to my future classroom because it allows for me to use an interactive and engaging app to track student math progress instead of doing worksheets. Because I am a special education major, my students need a lot of personalized learning. Having apps that allow the teacher to adjust the content to fit the student, is extremely important. A lot of my students might struggle with motor skills that prevent paper/pencil activities, so having the iPad app would also be extremely helpful to track understanding for those kids.

Reviewing the helpful classroom applications of an app was definitely a good way to help me in preparing to become a teacher. I had no idea there was a list of actual educational standards that needed to be met by an app in order to consider it useful in a classroom, so reading that list definitely helped me to consider things like that. It was fun messing around with the capture software, but since I don't have a Mac, I was unable to use Quicktime to make my video. Instead, I had to download two seperate IPad apps and two apps for my PC in order to get things to work, and I was quite proud of myself and my technological skills.

I will definitely use the app KomaKoma in my future classroom, and I may even have my students record reviews of their own if my classroom has the technology, since I think this is a good assignment to get people (myself included) to think critically and apply what they know.

Interesting Lesson

This is an interesting lesson. Doing a critical review of an app was not something that I had done before. In terms of how it applies to my future classroom, I could see using something like this as a way to teach technology literacy, while also giving kids a chance to really express their interests. I'd most likely use it with something like their favorite hobby, and why other people should try it.

I never knew that there was so much important criteria to be considered when choosing an app to use in your classroom. I learned a lot about important criteria that needs to be met when looking for different apps and what to look for. In my future classroom I will definitely use the different evaluation methods and guidelines to review apps before using them in my classroom. This experience also allowed me to find different possible apps I can use with my students.
