I was fortunate to begin my apprentice with Mary Ellen Ohare and Kim Toebe, Professional Development Leaders and colleagues at Special School District.  We were fortunate to have monthly study groups with them and other apprentices.  It was invaluable to be able to discuss and study with such a group of dedicated learners.

Completed one-week training with Ann Hoffman and Conn Thomas in La Crosse, WI the summer of 1989.  Completed additional requirements during the next year.  Achieved Certification summer of 1990, but could not attend the conference until 1991.

Completed 2010 - Frances Ihle mentor; Debbie Cook as instructor for PPDI

  1. Completed Potential Professional Developer Institute for Learning Strategies in June 22-26, 2009 in Arkansas with Debbie Cook.
  2. Apprenticeship completed with Frances Ihle as mentor with Professional Development provided to teachers in North Kansas City School District on Self-Advocacy, Fundamentals and Proficiency in Sentence Writing, and Fundamentals of Paraphrasing and Summarizing during the 2009-2010 school year.
  3. Submitted evidence May 2010.

Began June 2013 and completed my apprenticeship in May 2015

Kathy was a member of the Minnesota PPDI in 2013.  Her participation in the institute was a benefit to all of us who took part, and her portfolio is filled with quality work!
